It is time for another full slate of NBA this Wednesday. With a total of 10 games on the basketball card, SBR's expert capper has pulled four top plays that will bring profit to your wallet. Read one for valuable NBA Picks.

Denver Nuggets vs Charlotte Hornets

Denver -1.5

Denver will be making an early east coast trip to start the season, and the first stop on that voyage will be Charlotte, North Carolina. The Hornets are playing their same hard-nosed style defense as a team, but simply do not have the offensive firepower to close out games. A lot of that has to do with the fact that Nicolas Batum is out with an elbow injury, and Malik Monk has not lived up to the hype as a supreme scoring threat out of Kentucky.

Missing Batum has the Hornets relying much too heavily on Kemba Walker, who is playing phenomenal this season, but the team seems to not be able to function when he is not on the court. Kemba has an on-court net rating of 12.6 and an off-court net rating of -33.9.

The Nuggets are still trying to integrate Paul Millsap into their lineup, and it would probably be a lot smoother transition if they had a viable point guard. The Nuggets are starting the former Kentucky SG Jamal Murray at point, and he has struggled to properly run an NBA offense. Since the game is in Charlotte and the best player on the Hornets has a massive advantage at his position, it would be wise to jump on Charlotte here.

Houston Rockets vs Philadelphia 76ers

Rockets -3

The Sixers got their first win of the season against the Pistons on the backs of 30 points from Joel Embiid and a triple-double from Ben Simmons. This will be a much different test for the young 76ers to have to defend the Houston Rockets and their constant barrage of 3-pointers. As a team, the Rockets are taking a league-high 42.8 attempts per game, but are only hitting on 27.5% of those shots.

The key matchups for this game are Joel Embiid against Clint Capela, and Ben Simmons against the combination of Trevor Ariza, Luc Mbah a Moute, and PJ Tucker. Capela is more than capable of challenging Embiid away from the basket and also using his verticality to make rebounding difficult. As for Simmons, this might be the biggest defensive test he will have for the season. All three Houston perimeter defenders have more than adequate size and strength to knock Simmons off of his spots and keeping him out of the paint.

Look for the Rockets to bounce back after their first loss of the season and cover this spread easily. My big NBA pick of the night is Houston -3.5

San Antonio Spurs vs Miami Heat

Spurs -4

The Spurs have yet to lose a game this season despite playing without their superstar Kawhi Leonard. They are doing it by playing magnificent defense and timely play from their young point guard Dejounte Murray. The second-year pro out of Washington is averaging 13 points per game, 9.7 rebounds, and 4.7 assists. Murray has been able to use his speed and quickness to get into the teeth of the defense and kick out to open San Antonio shooters.

Murray isn’t the only Spur shining, LaMarcus Aldridge is having a bounce-back campaign in which he is averaging 24 points and 9 rebounds and most closely resemble the dominant force that he was while playing in Portland.

The Miami Heat have been picking up where they left off after a 30-10 finish to last season, led by Goran Dragic who is averaging 19 points per game. The only problem with the Heat is that their star players are constantly getting hurt. Hassan Whiteside has already been ruled out with a bruised knee, and Dion Waiters has been less than explosive on a bum ankle that he probably should have had surgery on this summer but didn’t in fear of missing his big payday.

The Spurs are not ones to miss taking advantage of a team’s weakness.

Washington Wizards vs L.A. Lakers

Washington -6.5

The Wizards will continue along on their west coast road trip by making a stop to the City of Angels and face the Lakers. This game will be nationally televised on ESPN and the promotion for this game has already gotten a lot of buzz due to the fact Lavar Ball has already started talking trash that the Lakers will not lose again this week, to which Wizards center Marcin Gortat retorted that John Wall will torture Lonzo for 48 minutes.

John Wall probably didn’t need any extra motivation to play this game as it is widely known that Wall feels slighted by national media, and would probably want to have a good showing on national television against the NBA media darling Lonzo Ball. The Wizards will be looking to start a season at 4-0 for the first time since the championship season of 1978 and the only thing that stands in their way is an inexperienced Lakers squad.

The Wizards are making a splash on the NBA with their newfound small-ball lineup of Wall-Beal-Oubre-Porter-Gortat which has logged more minutes than any 5-man unit in the NBA and ranks fourth in efficiency among 5-man units. The Wizards have the versatility to switch most pick-and-roll action with this lineup and will certainly spread opposing defenses out with sharpshooting from Otto Porter at power forward. Look for the Wizards to remain the only unbeaten team in the Eastern Conference.
