The Kings trounced the Lakers last night & return to the scene of the thumping when they take on the undefeated Clippers. Let's peruse the NBA odds to find out which team to back in our NBA picks.

Sacramento Kings (1-1 SU, 1-1 ATS)
The Sacramento Kings notched their first victory of the season by trouncing the LA Lakers 132-114 at the Staples Center. Rajon Rondo channeled his early days with the Celtics by taking command, setting up his teammates and leading the Sacramento offense. When the dust settled Rondo shot 9-of-13 from the field, including a 3-pointer, in almost 24 minutes of play. But he wasn't the only King crowning the Lakers. DeMarcus Cousins had 21 points to go along with 11 rebounds while Rudy Gay knocked down 19 points of his own.

The Kings' starting five outscored the Lakers' starters by a 85-61 margin with Sacramento's starters shooting 31-of-56 from the field or over 55 percent. It was in marked contrast to their opening night 111-104 loss to the team they will face again tonight at the same venue. While the Kings covered last night's seven point impost with ease the NBA odds makers only gave them a 5 ½ point head start in their opener against the Clippers which wasn't quite enough as they fell by seven. Tonight they will look to get even by relying on the suddenly rejuvenated Rajon Rondo and the always explosive DeMarcus Cousins.

LA Clippers (2-0 SU, 2-0 ATS)
So far so good if you're a Clippers fan or a bettor who has backed them in your NBA Picks in their first two games of the season. LA won their opener on the road against their opponents tonight 111-104 and followed that up with a dominating performance on Thursday night with a 104-88 dispatching of the Dallas Mavericks. The Clips were harnessed with a 12-point handicap by the NBA odds makers but even that wasn't enough to prevent them from cashing their second ATS cover in a row.

Blake Griffin bucketed 26 points and 10 rebounds against the Mavs after scoring 33 points on 14-of-20 shooting against the Kings two days earlier. Teammate and big man DeAndre Jordan had 15 boards along with four blocked shots against Dallas, the team who courted him so heavily in the offseason, but tallied only six points on the night. LA will look to keep this modest winning streak alive but in doing so this edition would become the first Clippers team to go 3-0 since 2007-2008.

NBA Picks
The fact that the Clips won the opener against the Kings was no fluke because LA has owned Sacramento in this series history. Los Angeles is 8-1 straight up and 6-3 ATS over the Kings over the course of the last three seasons. Unlike Wednesday night this meeting will be held in Los Angeles and not Sacramento which is where the Clippers destroyed the Kings 126-99 in their last meeting on February 21st of last season.

I graded this line at Clippers -10 before I looked at what any of the NBA Odds makers or offshores had offered. Come to find out this game opened at Clippers -12 ½ but some early money has dragged the number down to where it belongs which is between 10 and 10 ½ at most of the major books . If you look at their last game these teams played as evidence the Kings played tough in the second half cutting a 10 point first half deficit to seven which at first blush sounds like no big deal but the way Sacramento played in the first quarter put them behind the eight-ball for the rest of the game. We believe the Kings are talented enough to hang with LA at home and keep it within double digits as they did in their first go-round just a few days ago.
