Do we trust either of these teams enough to warrant backing them with our sports picks? Find out the angle we're talking for this afternoon's game in London.
The NBA odds board shows the Bucks as favorites, which is actually a position they've been taking up more this season than in years past. That's credit to a rock-solid start for this young Milwaukee team.
We've got a range of numbers available, with some books offering up a spread of six and others showing a number as high as seven. If you're itching to get action on this game, you're going to want to keep monitoring the lines in order to get the best value with your NBA picks. The O/U meanwhile is listed at 198 right now.
The Bucks continue to chug along and still have a positive record (20-19) as we scoot past the halfway mark of the month of January. They've been one of the pleasant surprises in the NBA this season and it doesn't look like they're going to fold and collapse like many may think. Coach Jason Kidd has these guys playing hard each and every night.
Let's remember this has come with star rookie Jabari Parker on the shelf and Larry Sanders all but calling it quits. There have been obstacles along the way, but Milwaukee has shown they're not going to go down easily.
Though they're a solid 5-3 over their last eight, the Bucks were on the losing side in their latest appearance. They fell 95-87 to the Bulls, as they simply had no way of stopping Pau Gasol, who completely went bananas for 46 points and 18 rebounds, accounting for nearly a half of Chicago's point total. Milwaukee was led by point guard Brandon Knight, who had 20 points, five boards and five dimes in the loss. Knight is likely to be instrumental for the Bucks in today's game against the Knicks, who have had problems at the point guard position this season.
New York Knicks
The Knicks are a total mess. There's no better way of saying it.
Coming into today, New York has dropped 15 straight games and can now be found with an overall record of 5-35. Yuck. Even more embarrassing is the fact the Knicks have lost eight consecutive contests by double figures, so it's not like they've been battling hard and getting unlucky. They've just been really, really bad.
That's not going to change. It appears as if Carmelo Anthony may give it a go today, but we don't see that changing much. This team has all sorts of problems, and it's not going to be fixed with the return of Melo. It's not like New York was doing that well even when he was healthy. In short, this Knicks team has been one to fade all season long, and we're not going to shy away from that strategy until some drastic changes are made.
We're not going anywhere near an ATS play for this afternoon's game in London.
The Bucks have been the better team, there's no doubt about that, but we still don't entirely trust them, and there's a chance Carmelo Anthony will suit up and play for the Knicks, which is clearly a big boost for them. We're just going to skip over picking a side and instead roll with a total play.
And, after looking at the various angles, we feel the UNDER represents the best value. We simply don't see a high-scoring game here, as the Bucks have been getting it done defensively and will match up with a New York squad that's second-to-last in the NBA in terms of PACE. Let's add the UNDER to our NBA picks here.
