Will LeBron be active for the Cavaliers tonight? They'll be at home against the Sacramento Kings, who also have injury concerns. Check out who we like most when attacking the NBA betting odds.
It looks like the NBA odds are finally settled, and even though LeBron's status is murky for tonight, the Cavaliers are clear-cut favorites at home against Sacramento.
Currently, the lines show Cleveland favored by either 7.5 or 8 points, all depending on the sportsbook you prefer. If you're looking to move your action towards the total, the number is listed at 203.5 as of now, with plenty of time left throughout the day for the odds to move. Keep checking back with Sportsbook Review to get the most up-to-date odds out there.
First and foremost: it remains to be seen whether or not LeBron James will play tonight. That's a pretty big deal, we don't have to tell you that. He had to sit out on Wednesday due to knee soreness, but we don't have a firm word whether he'll be giving it a go tonight.
The Cavs didn't really need LeBron in their most recent win, as Kyrie Irving did all the work himself. The former Duke star went off in the victory over Portland, scoring 55 points, the most of any player in the NBA this season. With Kyrie going beast mode, Cleveland was able to secure its eighth straight win. The team's overall record now stands at 27-20, and that certainly looks a lot better than when they were 19-20 not too long ago.
The health of LeBron is clearly a major concern and one that will be monitored and updated closely. We should have a good read on whether or not he'll play in plenty of time, and it's news that will have some kind of effect on the odds. If LeBron is active, you have to figure Cleveland will be having to lay even more chalk this evening.
While the Cavs are on the up and up, the Kings have been a disaster as of late. They've lost seven straight games to fall to 16-28 on the year, which is a huge disappointment considering this is a team that had actually gotten off to a good start this season. The coaching change hasn't paid off whatsoever, with Sacramento struggling to get much of anything positive going their way.
Recent losses haven't even been close, including the Kings' 119-102 defeat to Toronto on Wednesday. DeMarcus Cousins really struggled, and the whole team basically collapsed in the third quarter, when the Raptors outscored Sacramento 39-22. The Kings had some success offensively (well, everyone besides Cousins), but they were atrocious defensively.
Cousins appears to be questionable for tonight's game, and like LeBron's situation with Cleveland, Sacramento's chances are going to alter based on the news. He has been a huge part of the Kings' "successes" this season and it's a crime that he wasn't named to the All Star team for the Western Conference. When healthy, few players are as dominant as DeMarcus Cousins.
Though there's uncertainty injury-wise, we like Cleveland's chances of not only winning but winning rather comfortably.
The Cavs have more than enough talent to win against any opponent, but in a very favorable spot, facing off against a disheveled Kings team that could be without Cousins on their home court, you've got to like them even more.
There could be some fluctuation in terms of the odds as more injury news comes out throughout the day, but for now we're taking Cleveland as our NBA pick to win by at least eight points. If LeBron can't go, Kyrie and Love should still be able to carry the load against Sacramento, a team that has been losing at an extremely high rate lately.
