Entering Monday’s affair with Orlando, the Cavaliers with four straight loosing games. As for the Magic, they’ve won four of their last seven. The Cavaliers are still a huge favorite NBA odds.

The Orlando Magic Can Win Because…
They are facing a team that just isn’t right. You can see that Cleveland is not in a good place right now. The Cavaliers have lost their last four games, and their defense is hemorrhaging. Cleveland gives up an average of just under 103 points, which is 25th in the NBA. In the Eastern Conference, that’s especially unacceptable. It’s a little more allowable in the superior West, but not in the weaker half of the NBA. The Cavaliers aren’t even losing games by close margins, for the most part. They did lose by only a bucket to the San Antonio Spurs this past week, but they lost by 11 at home to the lowly Denver Nuggets. They lost by 13 to the Washington Wizards on Friday. They lost by 17 to the Toronto Raptors at home on Saturday. This team has to at least establish that it can be competitive in games before it can be given the benefit of the doubt.  LeBron James is trying so hard right now to get other teammates involved and establish a blended style of basketball that he’s not looking for his own offense. LeBron is not playing with the merciless, take-no-prisoners explosiveness that defines him at his best. It’s true that not everything was going to come together right away for the Cavs, but a 5-7 start is well below what anyone expected of this team through 12 games. Perhaps 7-5 would have been natural, but a losing record is worse. Orlando can step into Cleveland and win – after all, Cleveland lost by 11 at home to a bad Denver team, too.

The Cleveland Cavaliers Can Win Because…
They're going to get this thing right, first of all. There’s just way too much talent on this roster for the Cavaliers to not improve. This team will figure things out – it’s a matter of when, not if. However, the concern is that Cleveland might improve at a distant point in the season when it’s too late to gain a decent playoff seed. The Cavaliers don’t want to be playing well in the spring but be a seventh seed in the playoffs, which is what they’d be if the season ended today. This team knows it has to find solutions in the coming weeks if it’s going to be a top-three seed in the East and make its way up the standings.LeBron James is going to lead on and off the court. Kevin Love is too gifted to remain in a state of paralysis.

As for other reasons NBA odds point out that the Cavs should be picked to win this game, consider the Magic: They lost to an injured, shorthanded Miami team at home on Saturday night. They average under 97 points per game, putting them 22nd in the league. That lack of firepower is why Cleveland won’t be punished for its bad defense.

Outlook
That last insight – Orlando’s offense not being powerful enough to take advantage of Cleveland’s defense – is why the Cavaliers will win here. It’s a big number to lay but considering the Magic lost by seven at home to Miami, they can easily lost by 10 or more in Cleveland. Take the Cavs with your NBA picks tonight.
