With the Milwaukee Bucks fighting for a playoff spot it makes sense for them to be the favorite today in Philadelphia. Surprisingly the 76ers are 2-1 versus the Bucks this season and for the most part have played much better than last year.

Milwaukee Bucks

Milwaukee has lost three games in a row and could feasibly play their way out of the playoffs if this trend continues. Although they need this game to stay in it I don’t think Philadelphia is done playing basketball this year so like for the 76ers to take this game to the wire. Milwaukee has been very efficient on the offensive side of the ball but they go at a really slow pace which could keep them from covering the spread or even possibly winning this game considering how poorly they been on the defensive side. Although they are shooting 47.5% from the field which ranks second in the league, defensively they rank in the bottom 10 in most categories highlighted by ranking 24th in both opponent two point shooting percentage and opponent shooting efficiency. They also are allowing opponents to shoot 46% from the floor which ranks them 21st the league. They’ve gone at a really slow pace this season which has helped them mitigate some damage on the defensive side, but tonight I think they’re slow pace will go against them against a Philadelphia team that is still playing hard.

 Philadelphia 76ers

Philadelphia has lost their last five games in a row but four of those games were to playoff teams, and although they lost by 12 versus Chicago the other night I like how they played for the most part. Of course they are strapped with a lot of injuries but on the season Philadelphia has some halfway respectable statistics and I expect for them to treat this game like a playoff game considering Milwaukee is fighting for a spot. Offensively, Philadelphia has been less than stellar but they are shooting almost 50% on their two-point shots and they have been playing decent defense for the most part this season. Philadelphia ranks right in the middle the league in most defensive categories highlighted by allowing opponents to shoot just 50% on their two-point shots which ranks them 12th in the league. Although they are well out of it I expect for them to fight hard tonight and treat this game like their own little playoff and stay within the number.

 NBA Odds

Oddsmakers have made Philadelphia a +5.5 underdog and for my NBA pick, I will take them in this spot. Look for the pace to be rather slow for most of the game and for Philadelphia to keep this interesting and take it to the wire.
