Anthony Davis bruised his knee in the Pelicans’ loss to Portland two nights ago, and he is officially questionable for tonight’s game. If he is unable to go, it really puts a damper on the Pelicans’ chances, but either way Davis leans tonight, the total looks like a potential value.

Personally, I think Anthony Davis plays in this one. Check for a shootaround report in the early afternoon, but if Davis participates in that morning workout, I see him playing tonight in Sacramento. He’s had a day off and he’s not dealing with any structural damage.

Either way, this is going to be a DeMarcus Cousins night. Boogie is making his first trip back to Sacramento since getting traded as the deadline last season, and you know the Pelicans will feature him on offense as much as possible.

Cousins got to play the Kings once last season at home, and he put up 37 points and 13 rebounds, so no matter what the status of Davis is, Cousins is a good bet to dominate the ball.

There really isn’t anyone on the Kings right now that can handle Boogie down low, and if Davis plays, that statement is pretty true to him too. Willie Cauley-Stein is a great young defender, but he can only do so much off the bench.

Also, so far this season, when the Kings have faced the Rockets and Suns, two fast-paced offenses, they have been happy to quicken their pace to well over 100 possessions per game. The Pelicans currently play at the fifth-fastest pace of any team, and even if Davis misses tonight, that won’t stop. They are going to try and quicken the pace of this game as much as possible, so for our NBA pick, look for the total go over tonight on TNT.
