After only a two game slate on Tuesday, the NBA Odds have blesses us with a dozen games here in Wednesday evening. I have found two that are really intriguing, and after breaking even the last several nights, let’s get some profit tonight out of the NBA Picks.
Knicks vs. Sixers
The battle for the bottom of the Atlantic Division, a nice lottery pick, and to see who is the worst team in the NBA tips off tonight, as the Knicks head into Philadelphia to play the Sixers. Right now the NBA Odds have the Sixers as -1 ½ favorites, with a total of 190 ½. This is the lowest total of the day, so the odds of this one being lower scoring are seemingly pretty good. However I think this total is far too low for the lack of defense we will see tonight. The Sixers’ defense has been much better recently, but with a total of only 190 ½, the over is calling our names.
Even though it hasn’t happened much over the last few seasons, the Sixers are 16-5 cashing the over in their last 21 games as a home favorite between -1 and -4 ½. For the Knicks, the over is 15-6 in their last 21 road games against a team with a losing home record, and the over is 5-0 in their last five games this season as a road underdog between +1 and +5.
This probably won’t be too high paced, but in the end I expect little to no defense played by the Knicks here, and it should be enough for both teams to get points on the board. Take the over and add it to your NBA Picks tonight.

Raptors vs. Grizzlies
Later in the evening the Toronto Raptors make their way south to Memphis to play the Grizzlies, and the NBA Odds have the Grizz as -5 favorites, with a total of 199. There has been much debate around NBA circles on the Raptors, but here in the New Year they seem to be showing their true colors. They can beat bad teams, but when it comes to playoff caliber teams, they aren’t so good. This season the Raptors are barely above .500 against winning teams, and even though they have a win against Memphis already this season, that was in Toronto.
Mike Conley made his return for Memphis after hurting both of his ankles recently. Even thought he only played 30 minutes and looked a little slow at times, he was good enough to score 22 points on the Mavs, and he will be integral in stopping Kyle Lowry in this game.
Toronto is only 2-8 ATS in their last ten games too, and their early season success seems to finally be wearing off. They have lost their last four games ATS against teams with winning percentages above 60%, and 1-5 ATS in their last six games against a team with a winning SU record. Memphis on the other hand is 4-1 ATS in their last five games at home and overall. Look for the Grizzlies to take care of business tonight.
Along with my pick on the spread, I could not skip out on trying one of my newest NBA Odds betting systems, courtesy of Sports Insights' Bet Labs. System requirements are as follows:
- Regular Season Games
- Home Team With Winning Percentage Between 51% and 100%
- Closing Total Between 196.5 and 204
- Visiting Team Winning Percentage Between 51% and 100%
- Bet the Under
With the total posted between 199-200, depending on the sportsbook, this game also looks to favor the 'Under'. While the Raptors have been struggling, they are still a winning team, and they are in line for a home court advantage in the first round. Since 2005, when two winning teams get together, and the total is between 196 ½ and 204, the under has an amazing record of 308-243, (nearly 56%) and has a rate of return of 9.5%. The last time these two teams played one another the final score was 96-92, so look for the under to also have some NBA Odds value tonight at 200 points.
