Pacific Division Future Odds & NBA Picks

Even though the LA Lakers might not be a good NBA Pick this season, the Pacific Division itself is getting good again. They used to be the powerhouse of the Western Conference.

Los Angeles Clippers (-200)
Last season was a good one for the Clippers, and after winning a playoff series against their divisional rival, the Warriors, they advanced to the second round and lost to the Thunder. This season their NBA odds to win the division are around what they were a season ago, however the Pacific is a better division this season. The Warriors should be as good or better, while the Suns, Lakers and Kings are all improved. Even though the Clippers lost Darren Collison, they added and re-signed some of their nice complementary pieces. Glen Davis is back, and LA also added Jordan Farmar, Spencer Hawes and Ekpe Udoh. This team is deep and they have the experience, so their NBA odds are right on-point.

Golden State Warriors (+220)
The Warriors might be the loan threat to the Clippers in the Pacific this season, but if they can’t stay healthy it will be a lost cause. Not only do they return most everyone from last season, they added Leandro Barbosa and Shaun Livingston to give their bench some spark, and to deepen their already talented backcourt. As long as David Lee and Andrew Bogut can give them at least 65-70 games this season, they have a chance to upset the Clippers. Bogut played 67 games last season.

Phoenix Suns (+1200)
The Suns have added some talent this season with the re-signing of Eric Bledsoe and the signing of Isaiah Thomas. Even though it remains to be seen how they will shake up the minutes for their trio of talented guards, this team has a ton of young talent and depth, and could easily make a run at the playoffs if they stay healthy. Bledsoe may be the key. The young guard is going to want to live up to his massive contract signing this season, and if he can give them a full season, the Suns will likely be in the postseason. However winning the division might be a long shot, and their NBA odds at Bet365 say that as well.

Los Angeles Lakers (+2500)
The only thing the Lakers are going to win this season is our hearts if Kobe Bryant is healthy and can stay that way. So far during the preseason he has looked pretty good, but the Lakers themselves have not. Jeremy Lin will be a nice addition at the point guard position, and Carlos Boozer should give them a nice second option outside of Kobe. However a trio of Lin, Boozer and Bryant is not a playoff team in the deep Western Conference. They are going to play some people tough, but they are going to possibly be very overvalued in their NBA Odds this season. Tread lightly.

Sacramento Kings (+5000)
The Kings lost Isaiah Thomas in free agency this summer, but they added a good pair of point guards in Ramon Sessions and Darren Collison. Along with their drafting of Nik Stauskas, this team has some great young pieces to put around their star center, DeMarcus Cousins, and their veteran swingman, Rudy Gay. However like the Lakers, it likely won’t be enough. Although I think the Kings could finish above the Lakers in the Pacific, they won’t be a playoff team this season. Keep them off of your NBA Picks
