Indiana Pacers vs. Washington Wizards (-3-) 7:05 ET
The Indiana Pacers travel to Washington tonight to meet the Wizards, who are favored by 3.5 points in NBA odds for this Eastern Conference showdown that has playoff implications for both teams.  Indiana is currently 30-40 SU.  The Pacers are locked in a 5-way battle for the 7th and 8th spots in the Eastern Conference playoff queue.  Miami, Boston, Charlotte, Indiana and Brooklyn are all separated by no more than 2 games in the loss column.  Washington has a record of 40-31 SU.  They trail both, Chicago and Toronto, by 2 games in the loss column for the coveted 4th place in the standings which provides them with the all-important, home court edge in the 1stRound.  Each of these teams enters on losing streaks.  I am confident that Washington is the percentage play to turn things around & am laying my NBA pick on them.

With news that Paul George would return to the lineup before the end of the year and with PG George Hill returning from the injury list, the Pacers turned in a 12-2 SU ATS momentum building run through March 10th.  Since that time, however, the bottom has fallen out.  Tonight, they enter on negative runs of 0-6 SU and 0-7 ATS.  Look no further than their defensive demise for the reason why.  In the 6 games at the end of the 12-2 SU ATS run, the Pacers were allowing just 83 PPG.  Though they still allow a conference best, just 97 PPG, Indiana has allowed 106 PPG during their losing streak.  This is only the 6throad game for Indiana since the All Star break.  In the 3 games against winning teams, they have lost by 13 to OKC, 17 to Chicago and 3 to Cleveland.  Until Indiana improves their play at the defensive end of the floor and proves they can beat a quality team on the road, this team is a pure play against in this situation.  Remember, that Indiana is just 12-22 SU away for the season.

Contrast that to the play of the Wizards on their home court, where they are 25-10 SU.  In the 3 previous home games for Washington, they defeated Memphis by 20, Sacramento by 16 and Portland by 8.  But, a 1-3 SU ATS western swing following that Portland victory has left them hungry to get back on the winning track, now that they have returned home.

Strong preference for the Wizards to bounce back on their strong home court against an Indiana team who has struggled on the road and is in the middle of a defensive funk!
