I was in attendance the last time the Rockets and Pacers played one another this season, and it was not a great game. The Rockets pounced on the Pacers’ spotty defense early in the game and that is exactly what could happen this time around with the game in Houston tonight.

The Indiana Pacers are a good basketball. They are still a player or two away from being a contender in the Eastern Conference again, but they can shoot the ball and play fast with any team.

They didn’t show it in their first game with the Rockets, but I have a feeling that this first half should be pretty competitive.

It will also have no defense. The Pacers are allowing nearly 55 points per first half this season, and the Rockets’ offense should come in and have little to no trouble getting 60-plus on Indiana in the first half of tonight’s game.

The Rockets are averaging 63.2 points per first half at home this season, and over their last five games they have averaged nearly 70 points per first half.

If the Pacers just get to 50, that may be enough for the over in the first half total of 113 in this one. Indiana and Houston played to a 63-51 first half score in Indianapolis earlier this month, and the last time they played in Houston last season the score was 59-58 at the half.

Considering how fast both teams play, and with the run that the Rockets are on with Chris Paul back healthy, the sky is the limit for the first half score of this one, and the sportsbooks don’t seem to recognize that.
