The Indiana Pacers lost in the worst way possible on Monday night, as they threw a stupid pass and lost on a last-second dunk. Now they are in Atlanta as -4 road favorites, but the total of 214 ½ is where I want my money on Wednesday.

The Hawks are not a great offensive team, but the Pacers’ defense can bring out the best in even the worst offenses. The Pacers are allowing nearly 109 points per game on the road, and they are giving up nearly 109 points per 100 possessions.

It’s a good thing the Hawks are even worse on that end of the floor. Atlanta is giving up 111 points per 100 possessions this season, and with both teams wanting to push the pace, this is an easy money over play for me.

These two have yet to face one another this season, and even though they cashed the under in three meetings last year, these are two very different teams from just a season ago. Both are playing with paces of right at 100 possessions per game, and against one another, that may go up on Wednesday. Even though Atlanta slows down some at home, they get better on offense, while the Pacers are playing at a pace of 101 possessions per 48 minutes on the road.

In their first meeting of the 2017-18 season, I see Indiana and Atlanta scoring at will against one another. They are both two of just eight NBA teams this season that are allowing their opponents a 53.0 effective field goal percentage or higher. Considering Indiana is a top-10 offensive team, I expect 115-plus from them tonight, making the over a fine value.
