Because of a rescheduled game, the New Orleans Pelicans are in the midst of a rare back-to-back-to-back homestand with three games in three nights. On Tuesday night they defeated the Dallas Mavericks 115-105, and tonight they will face a much better opponent in the Indiana Pacers, who have won seven of their past 10 games.

A key for Indiana has been Lance Stephenson, who comes off the bench and energizes the arena with his passionate play. Stephenson is averaging double figures in the last 10 games, but more telling is the fact he averages 11 points and six rebounds on the road compared to seven points and four rebounds at home.

New Orleans is transitioning to a different style of play in the absence of DeMarcus Cousins. Just when the season seemed to be spiraling out of control, Emeka Okafor was brought in to stabilize the lineup. Okafor had been out of the NBA for three seasons and spent the majority of this year playing for the Delaware 87ers of the G-League before getting the call from the Pelicans. His strong play down low allows Anthony Davis to flourish on the perimeter.

The Pacers, slight road favorites tonight on the NBA odds board, have one of the better road ATS records in the NBA at 19-15, while the Pelicans have one of the worst home ATS records at 15-19-1. With your NBA picks, look for these trends to continue and for the Pacers to keep winning and keep up in the competitive Eastern Conference.

The Charlotte Hornets are coming off a four-game losing streak in which they almost surely ruined whatever small chance they had of making the playoffs. Charlotte is 7.5 games behind the Milwaukee Bucks for the last playoff spot in the East with only 11 games to go. Luckily for the Hornets, their schedule is turning much more favorable, starting tonight with the Brooklyn Nets, who are barely making it to the season's finish line.

The Nets are a high-volume three-point shooting team, shooting 35.2 three-point attempts per game but making only 34.7 percent of those shots. Brooklyn had hit at least 10 three-pointers in 12 straight games before going 9-for-34 against the Golden State Warriors this week. In the Nets’ only previous meeting with the Hornets this season they shot 14-for-43 from three-point range and lost 111-96.

While Brooklyn is not good at making threes, they are very good at covering spreads. They Nets are 41-29-1 ATS this season, while the Hornets are a terrible 29-38-4 ATS. The Nets give up 110 points per game, which third from last in the NBA. This matchup is basically a toss-up on the NBA odds board, so with your NBA picks expect the Nets to not only win, but for them to do so in exciting fashion as they give up a lot of points.
