The wins keep coming for Team USA, the overwhelming favorite by the Olympic women's basketball odds, as it looks to extend a record 58-game win streak when it faces Nigeria on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. ET in the quarterfinals of Paris 2024.

The Americans are favored by 26.5 points to beat Nigeria across our best sports betting sites, and our USA vs. Nigeria prediction and expert picks side with the seven-time reigning gold medalists in their biggest game thus far.

USA vs. Nigeria predictions for Wednesday

  • USA -26.5 (-112) ⭐⭐⭐
  • Ezinne Kalu Under 14.5 points (+100) ⭐⭐⭐
  • Jackie Young Over 9.5 points (+105) ⭐⭐⭐

Prediction: USA -26.5 ⭐⭐⭐

Team USA hasn't been the best bet recently, winning by just 13 and 19 points in its final two group contests, respectively. But this is an entirely different type of mismatch on paper.

There are only seven players averaging more than seven minutes per game for Nigeria, and none of them are taller than 6-foot-2. That sounds like a recipe for disaster against a deep and towering USA lineup, which has been led by dominant inside play from A'ja Wilson and Breanna Stewart.

Nigeria likes to pick up the pace and force opponents into careless turnovers, which could be an issue early. Once the Americans settle in and can throw fresh bodies at a thin Nigerian rotation, this one should get out of hand.

Odds: -112 | Implied probability: 52.83%

Prediction: Ezinne Kalu Under 14.5 points ⭐⭐⭐

Kalu has been a relevation for Nigeria, ranking fifth in scoring (19.3 PPG) across this entire tournament. Much of that has come in the fast break, though Kalu is perhaps the only player on Nigeria comfortable creating her own shot in the half court, too.

I'd be surprised if U.S. coach Cheryl Reeve lets her get comfortable on Wednesday. The Americans have a handful of pesky perimeter defenders to throw at the 5-foot-9 guard, who has scored between 18 and 21 points in all three games thus far on a combined 47.1% shooting.

If she's forced to give up the ball in this one, shoots even slightly less efficiently from the floor, or gets to the line at a less prolific clip, we should be cashing these generous even-money odds that profit $1 for every dollar wagered.

Odds: +100 | Implied probability: 50%

Prediction: Jackie Young Over 9.5 points ⭐⭐⭐

This feels like a game for Young to thrive. She's arguably the best perimeter defender on the roster to match up with Kalu, and her speed and creativity in transition are major assets in what should be a track meet.

She's also coming off the best game of her Olympic career, scoring 19 points in 27 minutes against Germany with five made triples. It was such a strong showing that she could find herself in the starting lineup on Wednesday - or, at worst, in a prominent reserve role like she was on Sunday.

A $10 bet at these odds would return $10.50 in profit if Young scores 10 points against Nigeria.

Odds: +105 | Implied probability: 48.78%
