Road-weary San Antonio finally has back-to-back home games, starting tonight against the Pacers. For your NBA picks, expect a good pace early and a first half that exceeds the total.

Indiana will once again be without Myles Turner, and while they have the bodies to fill in for Turner on offense, it’s going to be hard to stop LaMarcus Aldridge and Pau Gasol down low.

Turner missed the first meeting of the season between these clubs, and with Kawhi Leonard also being out for that game, Aldridge and Gasol combined to shoot 17-for-31 (54.8 percent) for a combined 43 points and 15 rebounds.

Needless to say, it might get ugly for the Pacers on defense, but the play to me in this one of the first-half total, which sits at 100½ on the NBA odds board. With the Spurs averaging nearly 53 points per first half over their last nine home games, and with the Pacers giving up more than that on the road, the over looks like a strong play for my NBA picks.

Indiana dropped 53 points on San Antonio at home in their first meeting, and they are averaging 53.2 points per first half in January. Even though Indiana has scored much better at home, they can get hot. And after two straight losses, I think Indiana can score close to 50 first-half points to help us cash the over in this one.
