This is one of the weirder days when reviewing the basketball betting odds. We have two cancelled games due to a massive snow storm out East & no less than five games have seen the totals drop today.

Orlando vs. Memphis  8:05 ET  FSFL, SPSO
The sportsbooks total of 209.5 has fallen like the number of people thinking Tom Brady had nothing to do with Deflate Gate, all the way to 204. Those making NBA picks have pummeled this total in spite of Orlando being on an 8-0 OVER run. Clearly, those wagering are convinced Memphis will control the tempo and have more than enough defense to slow the Magic, while realizing 10 of the last 13 matchups have gone UNDER. Another number that favors a lowered total is the Grizzlies being 19-6 UNDER after two straight games allowing 39% or lower shooting percentage.

NBA Pick – Play Under 205 at Pinnacle

Philadelphia vs. New Orleans  8:05 ET  CSN-P, FSNO
The loss of Tony Wroten has genuinely affected the 76ers offense as noticed by NBA basketball handicappers and those placing sports picks. Philadelphia has not shot over 38.3 percent in their past four games, averaging a scurvy-like 84 points a contest. This has helped adjust the NBA betting odds on the total downward from 190 to 186.5. The points-deprived Sixers are 12-2 UNDER this month. New Orleans is presumed to want revenge since an embarrassing 96-81 loss at Philly 11 days ago as seven-point favorite had to sting, even if Anthony Davis was out of the lineup. The Pelicans are 30-16 OVER at home off a home game.

NBA Pick – Lean Under 188 at Bodog

Boston vs. Utah  9:05 ET  CSN-NE, ROOT-NW
Celtics fans living in the New England area won’t have anything to do other than shoveling snow, but their team could score a couple of points lower than originally anticipated. Boston and Utah began the day at 196, but like the snow in the Bean-Town, the total has fallen to 194 and is sticking there. Though the C’s have covered four in a row on this road trip, this is their fourth different contest in five days and the prevailing wisdom is they might be tired and continue on present 3-1 UNDER trend. Except for facing Golden State and a healthy Cleveland crew, since Jan. 7th, Utah has held its other seven opponents under triple digits and is 7-0 UNDER after playing a game as a home favorite this season.

NBA Pick – Lean Under 194 at Bovada

Denver vs. L.A. Clippers 10:35 ET  ALT, FSPT
The Los Angeles Clippers should be proud of their recent defensive success, yielding an average of 97.8 points during a 13-game stretch after giving up 104.5 while losing six of the previous 10. "Everyone knows our offense is good," guard Chris Paul said about his team’s recent 10-3 record. "It's really good. When we get stops, we're a tough team to beat." The wagering public has also noticed and lowered the total from 217 to 214.5. The fly in the ointment is on the other end of the floor where the Clippers average 107.4 PPG (3rd in NBA) and is matched up against Denver’s defense which is giving up an average of 109.7 points during a six-game slide. Let’s ride the tide by placing our NBA picks on the Clips who are 12-3 UNDER at home after a combined score of 205 points or more this season.

NBA Pick – Play Under 215 at The Greek
