Welcome to another big night of NBA regular season action! It’s time for another huge slate of NBA betting and there are still several bits of news and injuries you need to be aware of before placing your bets!

Normally yours truly takes every opportunity to bash the Knicks. Their franchise has had so many swings and misses over the last few decades it’s hard to keep track of them. However, even without Kristaps Porzingis for likely most of, if not the season, this Knicks team is, dare I say, good?

The Knicks Are Back

Usually when you destroy the Hawks on your first game of the season, you deserve no more than a pat on the back and possible a fist bump. However, this is the Knicks we’re talking about! Overaction to New York sports teams’ success is a way of life! That being said, there may be a lot to get excited about this season on the Knicks, and it could very well lead them to being a playoff contender depending on when Porzingis is back.

On Friday the Knicks are away from home, but still playing a home game in Brooklyn. With how banged up the Nets are, the Knicks could once again be in line for a big game. Rondae Hollis-Jefferson is back for the Nets, so that doesn’t help anything. However, with this new young core of draft picks and castaway point guards, the Knicks could once again be a great play ATS.

Russell Westbrook’s Friday Status

Much like on Tuesday, Russell Westbrook’s status is up in the air. If he doesn’t play, not only are the Thunder potentially in trouble, but there will be some value opening up for this game. That being said, the Thunder only lost by eight points on opening night without their best player and that was against the Warriors.

The NBA Odds for this one are close to even, so apparently there is a chance that Westbrook suits up for this one. He has been ramping up his activity at practice following a knee procedure in the offseason, but he has yet to take contact, or do any 5-on-5 work. Without that, it’s hard to see him playing on Friday night.

Bucks Open A New Building

The Bucks have a habit of opening up new buildings for their NBA team and just leaving the old ones in place. If those in power in the city of Milwaukee are holding out for some dark horse Olympics bid, I hate to be the one to break it to you, but no one wants to go to Milwaukee willingly.

That being said, their basketball team and fans are probably both really excited to break in their new building against the Pacers. That kind of juice could go a long way in deciding who will win this game, but that being said, the Pacers are a really good basketball team this season. The Bucks are still solid favorites in this one, but a better play might be the under. The under has cashed in the last three meetings between these two teams, and the Pacers are 16-6-1 cashing the under since 2017 when playing a divisional opponent. In a new building, the crowd and players might be into the game a little more, which could lead to more defense.

Friday NBA Betting Trends
  • Hornets are 7-1 ATS and 8-0 SU in their last eight games against the Magic
  • Knicks are 6-2 SU and ATS versus the Nets since 2015
  • The UNDER is 6-2 over the last eight meetings between the Celtics and Raptors
  • The UNDER is 5-3 over the last eight meetings between the Bucks and Pacers
  • The Jazz are 7-4 ATS against the Warriors over the last three seasons
  • The Thunder are 6-1 ATS in their last seven games against the Clippers
