Our NBA handicapping professional shares his three totals selections for Thursday's abbreviated card. Let's review the NBA Odds board first, to select our winning selections for today.

Chicago Bulls vs. Cleveland Cavaliers 8:05 PM ET
Cleveland has gone 6-2 over the total during its previous eight games. They’ve scored 111 points or more in seven of their last ten contests. The Cavaliers have also allowed 100 points or more during seven of its previous eight games.

Chicago has allowed 102 points or more in seven consecutive games. The Bulls are converting on a sizzling hot 42.4% of their three point attempts during its previous five contests.

Neither one of these teams will shy away from playing an up tempo style. Case in point is Cleveland’s 90 field goal attempts or more in each of its last three outings. Chicago has played at that kind of pace from the get go, averaging 88 field goal attempts per game this season. This has the earmarks of a high scoring affair, and one of my Thursday NBA picks will follow that lead.

NBA Pick: Over 205.5

San Antonio Spurs vs. Los Angeles Clippers 10:35 PM ET
The Clippers have averaged 109.4 points scored per game over their last seven contests. During their previous five games, they’ve averaged 34 free throws per game, and allowed 28 per outing as well. The Clippers have also scored 102 points or more in seven straight home games. On a negative note, they’re allowing a lofty 105.0 points per game over their previous five contests.

San Antonio has been red-hot offensively during the last five games, shooting 48.5%, converting 45.3% of its three point attempts, and making an outstanding 84.4% of their free throw tries. In their only encounter versus the Clippers this season, San Antonio won 115-107, and that game easily went over the total of 195.5. I look for more of the same this evening, regardless of this elevated total.

Utah Jazz vs. Washington Wizards 7:05 PM ET
This pick falls under the heading of an NBA handicapping algorithm. Utah has gone 8-2 during its last ten games. Current NBA odds at BetOnline indicates there’s a total of 197.0 on this contest.

Any team (Utah) which has won eight or more of their previous ten games, playing in three or less games over the last ten days, and there’s a total of 190.0 to 199.5, resulted in those games going 25-6 (80.6%) under the total during the past five seasons. Those 31 contests averaged a combined 188.3 points scored per game.
