Our NBA odds consultant shares his two top totals selections on Wednesday’s card. Go inside to find out what those picks are and why he’s opted for them.

Miami Heat vs. Charlotte Hornets 7:05 PM ET
Charlotte has gone under the total in each of their previous four home games against Eastern Conference opponents. Those contests averaged only a combined 182.5 points scored per game.

Miami has gone an incredible 15-4 (78.9%) under the total this season. They’ve certainly been a key contributor to those low scoring contests. The Heat is allowing just an average of 93.3 points per game this season, ranking second best in the entire NBA, and tops the Eastern Conference regarding that category.

Miami has scored 55 and 60 points respectively during the first half of their previous two games. Charlotte scored 64 points in the first half of their 104-84 win against Detroit in their previous outing. Any road team (Miami) with a total of 190.0 to 199.5, coming off two straight games of scoring 55 points or more in the first half, versus an opponent (Charlotte) who scored 60 points or more in the first half of their previous game, resulted in those contests going 24-4 (85.7%) under the total since 1996. There were 61.7% of those 28 games that went under the number by 7.0 points or more.

Current NBA odds provides me with a best combination of number and price for this specific wager.

Houston Rockets vs. Washington Wizards 7:05 PM ET
Houston is averaging a lofty 110.0 points per game over their previous seven contests. They’ve also allowed 110 points or more on five of those seven occasions.

Washington has gone over the total in each of their previous four games. Those contests have averaged a sizable 216.0 points scored per contest. They’ve also seen only one of their ten home games go under the total this season.

Despite this large number, I’m looking for a high scoring affair, and one of my NBA picks on Wednesday will be indicative of that sentiment.

NBA Pick: Over 215.5 at 5Dimes
