Our expert NBA handicapper shares his top three totals on Thursday’s card. These NBA picks have gone a stellar 11-5 (68%) during the past six days, and that includes a Thursday 3-0 sweep!

Sacramento Kings vs. Detroit Pistons
Sacramento has gone 16-8 (66.7%) over the total during its previous twenty-four games. During that stretch they’ve been brutal defensively, allowing 113.7 points per game, opponents shot 48.2%, and that includes 38.9% from three point range.

Detroit has allowed 111 points or more in each of their previous four games. During that time, Pistons opponents have shot 49.4%, and made 39.2% of their three point shots. Detroit has been explosive offensively in its last four at home, scoring a lofty 115.5 points per game, shooting a stellar 50.6%, and knocking down a stellar 43.9% of their three point attempts.

Sacramento has allowed 100 points or more in twenty-three of its last twenty-four overall. Detroit has gone 30-8 (78.9%) over the total this season when scoring 100 points or more in a game, and that includes 18-4 (81.8%) at home. I’ve touched upon Sacramento’s defensive woes, but they’re fully capable of putting up sizable offensive numbers as well. The current NBA odds boards at 5Dimes clearly provides me a best number for this wager.

Phoenix Suns vs. Los Angeles Lakers
Phoenix has shot the ball horribly over its past five games. During that stretch made just 41.4% of their field goal attempts, and canned only 29.7% of its three point shots. As a matter of fact, they’re coming off a 103-69 loss at Utah last night, and shot a pathetic 34.1% in that contest. Phoenix has gone under the total during their previous five games when playing on no rest. They averaged a miniscule 90.8 points scored per game and shot an anemic 39.6% in those five outings.

The Lakers are 7-1 under the total during its last eight at home, and there was a combined 199.4 points scored per game. Los Angeles has struggled mightily with their three point shooting during its previous five games overall, converting on a meager 28.9% of those attempts.

Relative to the somewhat lofty total, I like this contest to be a low scoring affair. One of my Friday NBA picks will concur with that prediction.
