Our NBA analyst shares his two top totals for Friday’s card. Go inside to find out what those NBA picks are, and why he’s opted to bet on them. Let's start winning today!

Dallas Mavericks vs. Orlando Magic 7:05 PM ET
Dallas has gone over the total in each of its previous three games, and there was a combined average of 223.3 points scored per contest. They allowed their opponents to shoot a sizzling hot 51.2% during that stretch. On a positive note, Dallas has averaged a lofty 32 free throw attempts per game over their last five contests, and they converted on a stellar 77.2% of those tries.

Orlando has chosen to play an up tempo style recently, averaging 89 field goal attempts per game during their last five games. They haven’t shot the ball exceptionally well over that time, but have averaged 103.2 points per game due to a high volume of offensive possessions.

Dallas has allowed 110 points or more in each of their previous three games. Orlando is coming off a 98-96 loss to San Antonio in its previous game. Current NBA odds indicate that the total in this contest is 202.0. This data qualifies Friday’s matchup for a very profitable NBA handicapping algorithm.

Any road team (Dallas) with a total of 200.0 to 209.5, coming off three straight games in which they allowed 100 points or more, versus an opponent (Orlando) coming off a loss by 6 points or less, resulted in those games going 43-12 (78.2%) over the total during the past five seasons. The average total in those 55 contests was 204.6, and there was a combined average of 214.4 points scored per game.

Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Memphis Grizzlies 8:05 PM ET
Minnesota is 9-1 over the total in its last ten games. As a matter of fact, they surpassed the number in each of their last five games with a combined average of 221.6 points scored per contest. Minnesota isn’t an up tempo style of team, but they’ve been red hot offensively during its last five outings. During that stretch, they’ve averaged a sizable 110.8 points per game, shot an outstanding 50.2%, and were sent to the free throw line 32 times per contest.

Memphis has gone 13-2 over the total in their last fifteen games. They’ve shot a sizzling hot 51.1% from the field, and converted on a superb 39.6% of its three point attempts during their previous five outings. Memphis is 18-10 over the total at home this season, and that includes exceeding the number in nine of its last 10 at the FedEx Forum.

These teams have met twice this season, and both games went over the total. Not only did they go over, but did so by a combined 42.5 points. I’m looking for more of the same this evening, and one of my Friday NBA picks will follow that exact path.
