Our NBA handicapping professional shares his two top totals on Tuesday’s card. Go inside to find out what those NBA picks are, and why he’s chosen to wager on them.

Milwaukee Bucks vs. Portland Trailblazers 10:05 PM ET
Milwaukee is 4-1 over the total in its last five games, and there’s been a combined average of 206.6 points scored per contest.

Portland has scored 100 points or more in 20 of their 23 wins this season. Considering they’re -300 on the money line for Tuesday’s game, and Milwaukee is a terrible 7-22 on the road this season, there’s a high probability of a Portland win. The Blazers are averaging ten made three point shots per game this season. Milwaukee has allowed opponents to convert on a sizzling hot 44.1% of its three point attempts during their previous five games.

Portland has gone 8-2 in their last ten games, and is now 23-26 (.469) on the season. According to current NBA odds, the posted total on this game is 205.0. This sets up an extremely profitable NBA betting algorithm. Any home team with a total of 200.0 or more, possessing a win percentage of .400 to .490, and they’ve won eight or more of its previous ten games, resulted in those contests going 26-4 (86.7%) over the total since 1996. The average total in those 30 games was 206.8, and there were a combined average of 220.4 points scored per contest.

[/]{"component":"oddswidget", "eventId":2883193, "sportsbooksIds":[169,1096,93,19,92,238], "LineTypeId":3, "PeriodTypeId":1}[/]
NBA Pick: Over 205
Best Line Offered: at BetOnline

Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Los Angeles Lakers 10:35 PM ET
Minnesota has seen six of its last seven games go over the total and allowed 101 points or more six times. The Timberwolves have also shot a stellar 49.1% from the floor over their previous five outings. Minnesota has been adept at getting to the free throw line this season, averaging 27 attempts per game, and converting on a superb 79.1% of those tries.

The Lakers have allowed 101 points or more in nine of their last ten games, and opponents have shot 48% or better during eight of those contests. On a more positive note, they’ve averaged 26 free throw attempts per contest in its last five games, and converted on an excellent 83.2% of those opportunities.

These teams have met twice this season, both games easily went over the total, and did so by a combined 62.0 points. The final scores in those contests was123-122 and 112-111. The teams combined to attempt 130 free throws in the two games. Neither of these teams are an offensive juggernaut by any stretch of the imagination. However, using the old boxing cliché of “styles make fights”, this game is indicative of that adage. I like this contest to be a high scoring affair relative to the current total. One of my NBA picks on Tuesday will reflect that prediction.

[/]{"component":"oddswidget", "eventId":2883194, "sportsbooksIds":[169,1096,93,19,92,238], "LineTypeId":3, "PeriodTypeId":1}[/]
NBA Pick: Over 204
Best Line Offered: at 5Dimes
