Our NBA handicapping professional shares his top two NBA picks on Monday's card. Go inside to give yourself a sizable betting edge in betting these games.

Indiana Pacers vs. Miami Heat 7:35 PM ET
Indiana has gone 7-3 over the total in its last ten games, and there was a combined average of 205.6 points scored per contest. Miami has gone over the total in each of their previous three games, and there was a combined average of 218.0 points scored per contest. Miami shot a red-hot 51.6% from the field during those last three contests, while averaging a robust 110.0 points scored per outing.

Relative to the current posted total, I like this game to be a high scoring affair, and one of my Monday NBA picks will echo that sentiment.

Boston Celtics vs. Minnesota Timberwolves 8:05 PM ET
Boston has gone over the total in five consecutive games in a row. Those contests averaged a very mammoth 233.8 points scored per game. As a matter of fact, the Celtics have scored 111 points or more in five of their last six games. Unfortunately for Boston, their defensive play hasn’t been anywhere near that high level of late. The Celtics have allowed opponents to shoot a combined 50.6% over its last five games, and those foes averaged a whopping 34 free throws per game. That will be an issue for the Celtics this evening, since Minnesota is averaging 33 free throw attempts per game during its last five, and connected on an excellent 84.9% of those opportunities.

Speaking of Minnesota, they’ve gone 6-1 over the total in its last seven and 12-2 over the number during their previous fourteen games. The Timberwolves have averaged a lofty 107.8 points per game during its last seven, and they also allowed 109.4 points per outing as well.

Boston has gone 6-2 in their last eight games. That successful run has helped to improve their winning percentage to .579 this season. Minnesota enters tonight with a poor record of 17-39. Current NBA odds have the posted total of 217.0 on this contest. This sets up a successful NBA betting algorithm which has passed the test of time.

Any team (Boston) with a total of 210.0 or more, coming off winning 6 or 7 of their previous eight games, possessing a win percentage of .510 to .600, versus an opponent with a losing record, resulted in those games going 49-21 (70.0%) over the total since 1996. In fact, this exact NBA betting algorithm has gone 9-1 over the total since the start of the 2013-2014 NBA campaign.
