Our NBA analyst shares his two top totals on Monday’s card. Go inside to find out what those NBA picks are, and why he’s chosen to wager on them.

Dallas Mavericks vs. Atlanta Hawks 8:05 PM ET
Dallas has gone 14-6 under the total during its previous twenty games, and that includes 8-2 its previous ten road contests. The Mavericks have scored 92 or less, and also allowed 90 points or fewer in three of its past four games.

Atlanta is 7-2 under the total in its previous nine games, and that includes 3-0 during their last three at home. In those three at home, there was a combined average of only 182.3 points scored per game, and they held opponents to 86 points or less on each occasion. The Hawks are averaging a paltry 87.3 points scored per game, and have shot a terrible 40.1% from the floor during their last three overall. As a matter of fact, Atlanta has scored 95 points or less in five of their previous six games.

This game has the earmarks of a low scoring affair, and one of my Monday NBA picks supports that notion.

Memphis Grizzlies vs. New Orleans Pelicans 8:05 PM ET
Memphis has gone 9-1 over the total in their last 10 games, and that includes 3-0 in its previous three road contests. During the Grizzlies last five outings, there was a combined average of 55 free throw attempts per contest. That’s significant since they convert on a stellar 79.3% of their free throws for the season, and Monday’s opponent (New Orleans) has been equally as adept at 79.2%.

New Orleans has gone over the total in eight straight games. The Pelicans scored 105 points or more on seven of those occasions, and allowed 99 or greater in all eight contests. What’s intriguing about the Pelicans totals this season has been their home and away splits. They’ve gone 18-5 under the total in away games, and are 17-6 over at home.

This will be the third meeting of the season between these teams. Each of the first two went over the total, and there was a combined average of 208.5 points scored per game. Current NBA odds posted at JustBet provides me with the best number for this specific NBA pick.
