Our NBA odds analyst shares his three top totals picks on Tuesday’s card. Go inside to find out what those picks are and why he’s chosen them.

Detroit Pistons vs. New York Knicks 7:35 PM ET
This will be the first meeting of the 2015-2016 NBA campaign between these Eastern Conference teams. They met four times a season ago, and went 3-1 over the total during those encounters.

Detroit has gone 6-2 over the total during its previous eight games. New York has gone over the total in each of their last five home games. According to NBA odds, the current (11:00 AM ET) total on this contest is 198. I like this game to be a high scoring affair, and one of my Tuesday NBA picks will be indicative of that prediction.

Milwaukee Bucks vs. Oklahoma City Thunder 8:05 PM ET
Bookmaker.com currently (11:00 AM ET) has a total of 204.0 for this contest. Milwaukee has gone 19-7 (73.1%) under the total the past two seasons when there’s a number of 200.0 to 209.5. Those 26 contests averaged a combined 193.9 points scored per game. The Bucks are averaging just 92.6 points per contest in their away games this season.

Oklahoma City has gone 14-3 under the total during its previous seventeen games overall, and that includes 8-1 during their last nine at home. Despite allowing 112 points in their previous game against Denver, they’ve held opponents to an average of 95.8 points per contest during their last five outings.

Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Denver Nuggets 9:05 PM ET
Cleveland has really struggled offensively in recent games. However, facing Denver might be just what the doctor ordered. The Nuggets are allowing an average of 112.0 points per game, opponents have shot a sizzling 50.1% from the floor, and converted on an off the charts 46.0% of their three point attempts during their previous five contests.

The good news for Denver is that they’ve averaged a robust 106.8 points scored per game during its last five outings. The Nuggets whole body of work thus far indicates that they’re a below average three point shooting team. However, over their last five contests, they’ve converted on a stellar 39.1% of its three point attempts. Denver is coming off a 122-112 loss to Oklahoma City in their previous game. That contest easily soared over the total of 207.0.

Any home team (Denver) with a total of 190.0 to 199.5, coming off a game in which they went over the total by 24.0 points or more, and they’re playing in the first half of the season, resulted in those games going 44-20 (68.8%) over the total during the past five NBA campaigns.
