Our NBA handicapping professional shares his two top totals picks on Friday’s card. Go inside to find out what those picks are, and why he’s opted to wager on them.

Toronto Raptors vs. Washington Wizards 7:05 PM ET
These teams have met twice this season, both games went under the total, and those contests averaged 175.5 points scored per game.

Toronto has gone 12-2 under the total versus opponents that allow 103 points or more per game. The Wizards fit into that parameter since they’re allowing 104.3 per contest. Toronto is coming off a 108-91 win at Brooklyn on Wednesday, and that victory improved their record to 22-15 this season. They will be facing a Wizards team tonight that’s gone a disappointing 15-18 thus far.

Any team (Toronto) with a winning record, coming off a road win by 10 points or more, versus an opponent (Washington) with a losing record, resulted in those games going 62-26 (70.5%) under the total during the past five seasons.

Current NBA odds provide me with a best combination of number and price for this specific wager.

Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Minnesota Timberwolves 8:05 PM ET
Cleveland went over the total for the first time in eight away games during Wednesday’s 121-115 win at Washington. Despite going over the total in each of their previous two outings, they’re 9-3 under the number during its last twelve overall.

Minnesota has scored less than 100 points in nine straight games, and averaged just 89.7 points scored per contest during that stretch.  They’ve also allowed 95 or less in each of their last three home games. Minnesota has gone 16-3 under the total at home this season, and that includes 6-0 (180.2 PPG) during its last six. They’re also 8-0 under the total (188.7 PPG) at home this season versus non-conference opponents.

I like this contest to be a low scoring affair, and one of my Friday NBA picks will be indicative of that prediction.

Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Los Angeles Lakers 10:35 PM ET
Oklahoma City has been involved in plenty of high scoring games recently. However, the fact remains, they’ve gone under the total in each of their last three away games (201.0 PPG), and seven of its last nine on the road.

The Lakers have gone under the total in both games against Oklahoma City this season. During those contests they averaged only 81.5 points scored per game, and shot a pathetic 35.4% from the field. Los Angeles has gone 10-4 under the total at home, and has shot a miserable 39.8% from the floor in those outings. On a positive note, they’ve allowed 101.1 points per game at home, and that’s well below their season average of 106.1.
