Our NBA handicapping professional shares his three top NBA totals picks on Friday’s card. Go inside to find out what those picks are, and why he’s opted to wager on them.

Portland Trailblazers vs. Brooklyn Nets 7:35 PM ET
Consensus NBA odds showed an opening total of 199.5 in this contest. Since that time, the number has moved to either 204.0 or 204.5 depending on which sportsbook you visit. It’s been a very strange betting pattern, considering the majority of bets made at this juncture went on going under the total. More times than not, that’s a strong indicator of razor sharp money wagered the other way.

Portland has gone 5-1 over the total in their last six road games, and they’re 9-4 over the number in its previous thirteen overall. During their last four games, Portland has averaged 92.5 field goal attempts per contest, and that’s indicative of a torrid offensive pace. Some of that can also be attributed to being +35 on the boards during that stretch.

The Nets have allowed 103 points or more in each of its last three contests. During that stretch, they shot 48.1% from the floor, and also allowed opponents to convert on 48.3% of their field goal attempts.

I like this game to be a high scoring affair relative to its current total. One of my NBA picks for Friday will reflect that prior statement.

Atlanta Hawks vs. Milwaukee Bucks 8:05 PM ET
Atlanta has gone 11-2 over the total in their previous thirteen games. During that stretch, the Hawks scored 103 points or more on ten occasions. On a negative note, Atlanta has allowed 105 points or more in five of its last six games. During their last five contests, the Hawks have averaged 11 made three point shots per game.

Milwaukee has gone 4-1 over the total (206.6 PPG) during its previous five home games. The Bucks have converted on a more than respectable 38.1% of their three point shots at home this season. They’re also allowing a lofty 103.6 points per game for the season.

Dallas Mavericks vs. Chicago Bulls 8:05 PM ET
Chicago has scored 100 points or more in thirteen consecutive games. They’ve also allowed 106 points or more in six of their previous seven contests. Chicago has gone 4-0 over the total in its last four, 6-1 during their past seven, and 12-3 over the number in its previous fifteen games. The Bulls have converted on a red-hot 40.3% of their three point attempts over its last five games.

Dallas faced Chicago once this season, and came away with a 118-111 home win on 12/26. The teams combined to go 24-for-54 (44.47%) from three point range, and were also a cumulative 41-for-54 (75.9%) from the free throw line.
