Our NBA odds consultant shares his three top NBA picks on Tuesday’s abbreviated card. Go inside to find out what those picks are and why he’s opted for them.

Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Boston Celtics 7:35 PM ET
This will be the first meeting of the season between these Eastern Division rivals. They met eight times a season ago, and it included Cleveland’s four game sweep of Boston during a 2015 Eastern Conference Quarterfinal playoff series. Six of the last seven of those meetings went under the total, including each of the previous three played in Boston.

According to NBA odds, the posted total in this game is 202.0. Cleveland has gone 43-24 (64.2%) under the number during the past two seasons when there’s a total of 200.0 or more.

The Cavaliers are coming off a 111-76 win at Orlando in their previous game. The Celtics were a 98-93 winner at Charlotte as a 3.0 point road underdog during their last contest. Any team (Celtics) with a total of 200.0 to 209.5, coming off a straight up underdog win, versus an opponent (Cavaliers) coming off a road win by 10 points or more, resulted in those games going 32-10 (76.2%) under the total during the past five seasons.

Houston Rockets vs. Sacramento Kings 10:05 PM ET
These teams have already played two high scoring and entertaining games this season. There were a combined 226 and 233 points scored in those contests. Sacramento had a combined 191 field goal attempts in those outings, and that equates to a torrid offensive pace even by NBA standards. Houston connected on a combined 31 three point shots, and amassed a massive 72 free throw attempts in those pair of meetings.

The current total of 218.5 is this high for a reason. I like this game to be an extremely high scoring affair, and one of my NBA picks on Tuesday will reflect that prediction.

The Lakers have allowed 100 points or more in each of their previous fourteen games. They’ve gone over the total in all of their last three contests, and there was a combined average of 221.3 points scored per game. The Lakers had 86 field goal attempts or more during six of its last eight games.
