Houston Rockets vs. Indiana Pacers 6:05 PM ET
This is more so about Indiana, and very little to do with Houston, regarding the assessment of this total. The Pacers are coming off a 120-110 loss at Brooklyn last night. They’ve gone under the total in each of its last four games when playing on no rest, and there was a combined 192.0 points scored per contest. Indiana has also gone 9-1 under the total during their previous ten games this season, following a contest in which they scored 110 points or more. Additionally, Indiana has gone under the total in each of their last four games, after allowing 120 points or more during its previous outing. The Pacers allowed just 91.8 points per game, and held opponents to only 39.1% shooting during those previously mentioned four outings. Indiana has scored 94 points or less in each of their last three home games, and have allowed 101 or less in five of its previous six at home.

Relative to the total at the time of this writing, I look for a low scoring contest. One of my Sunday NBA picks will be indicative of that prediction.

Washington Wizards vs. Los Angeles Lakers 9:35 PM ET
Washington has seen its last three games all go over the total, and there was a mammoth 234.4 points scored per contest. During that time frame, Washington converted on a stellar 45.2% of their three point attempts, and allowed 118.7 points per game to the opposition. They’ve also gone 7-0 over the total in its previous seven non-conference away games, when the number is 219.0 or less. Those seven contests averaged a combined 219.1 points scored per game.

The Lakers have seen their last three games all go over the total, and there was a combined 218.0 points scored per outing. During that stretch, they allowed 111.7 points per game, while opponents shot a red-hot 49.4%, and converted on a stellar 39.1% of their three point shots.

The current NBA odds clearly provide me with the most advantageous number for this wager.
