Our expert handicapper shares his top two totals on Sunday’s card. Can you afford to wager today without reading this NBA picks article first?

Indiana Pacers vs. Atlanta Hawks
Atlanta has gone 8-1 under the total in their previous nine games. During that stretch, the Hawks were outstanding defensively, allowing an average of 91.1 points per game, and holding their opponents to a paltry 38.5% shooting. The average total in those nine contests was 204.5, and there were only a combined 189.1 points scored per game. Atlanta has faced Indiana three times this season, they averaged just 93.7 points scored per contest, and those games went 2-0-1 under the total.

Indiana is coming off a 112-105 win at Dallas on Saturday. They’ve gone 19-8 (70.4%) under the total this season, following a game in which there was a combined 205 points or more being scored. Indiana has also gone under the total in their last six road games this season when playing on no rest. The Pacers scored 94.1 points per outing, and shot a poor 41.8% during those six games.

Both of these teams have defended the three point line extremely well during recent games. Indiana’s three point defense is at 30.5% in their last five contest, and Atlanta’s is an even better 28.0% during its previous five outings. This has all the earmarks of a low scoring affair, and one of my NBA Picks on Sunday will follow suit.

Milwaukee Bucks vs. Brooklyn Nets
The Nets return home for the first time since completing a marathon nine game in eighteen day road trip. They ended that trek with a 95-89 loss at Philadelphia on Friday. Brooklyn has gone 6-0 over the total in their last six games this season, following a game in which they scored 90 points or less. The Nets allowed 111.6 points per contest, and opponents shot a sizzling hot 51.3% during the last five games of that recent road trip. On a brighter side, they also converted on a stellar 40.0% of their three point attempts over that same five game span.

Speaking of returning home, Brooklyn is 11-2 over the total in their last thirteen games played at the Barclays Center. During that span, they allowed opponents to make a substantial 43.1% of their three point attempts. They’ll be facing a Milwaukee team on Sunday which has converted on a stellar 39.0% of its three point tries over their last five games.

According to current NBA odds boards at Pinnacle, they provide me with a best combination of number and price for this specific wager.

Play on over the total of 206.0 (-105).
