Our NBA handicapping professional shares his top two NBA picks on Thursday's card. Go inside to give yourself a sizable betting edge in betting these games.

Golden State Warriors vs. Orlando Magic 7:05 PM ET
Orlando is averaging 109.8 points per game, and has gone 4-1 over the total during its previous five contests. During that stretch, they’ve averaged a lofty 92 field attempts per game, and allowed opponents to convert on 43.3% of their three point shots. That’s certainly not good news from a defensive standpoint, considering they’ll be facing the most prolific three point shooting team in the NBA this evening. The Magic allowed 110.0 points per game, and allowed their last two opponents to shoot a combined 52.2%.

Speaking of Golden State and their three-point shooting, they’ve connected on a superb 41.9% of those attempts this season, and are averaging 13 makes per game. The Warriors have been a bit shaky defensively of late, allowing an average of 111.1 points per game, and opponents have shot 38.5% from three point range against them during its last five games.

Current (12:20 PM ET) NBA odds makers have a posted total of 223.5 on this game. Relative to that total, I like this game to be a very high scoring game.

Brooklyn Nets vs. Phoenix Suns 9:05 PM ET
Brooklyn has gone 4-1 over the total in its last five and 11-3 over during their previous fourteen games. The Nets have converted on a stellar 39.1% of their three point attempts during its last five games, and also allowed their opponents to shoot 39.7% from three point range.

Phoenix has been horrible defensively in their previous five games. During that stretch, Suns opponents have shot 49.0%, made 43.1% of their three point tries, and averaged a mammoth 37 free throw attempts per contest. Phoenix is also averaging 28 free throw attempts per game over its last five outings.

The total is this contest is fairly reasonable with all factors being accounted for. I’m calling for a high scoring affair, and one of my Thursday NBA picks will be indicative of that prediction.
