Our NBA handicapping professional shares his two top NBA totals picks on Saturday’s card. Go inside to find out what those picks are, and why he’s opted to wager on them.

Brooklyn Nets vs. Atlanta Hawks 7:35 PM ET
Brooklyn has seen each of their previous two games go over the total, and there was a combined average of 217.0 points scored per contest. The Nets have allowed 103 points or more in each of their previous four games, and opponents have shot a red-hot 48.9% from the field during those contests. Brooklyn has been far from a good three point shooting team this season. However, that’s not been the case during its previous five games. During that stretch, they’ve connected on a stellar 39.2% of their long distance attempts.

Atlanta has gone 12-2 over the total in their last fourteen games. As a matter of fact, each Atlanta’s previous six home games have gone over the total, and there was a combined average of 215.2 points scored per contest.

Sportbooks seem undeterred by the fact that these teams have gone under the total in both of their encounters (183.0 PPG) this season. I concur with their thought process, and one of my NBA picks on Saturday will be indicative of such.

Portland Trailblazers vs. Philadelphia 76ers 7:35 PM ET
Portland has gone 4-1 over the total (214.4 PPG) during their last five games, and has seen seven of its past nine surpassing the number. They’re coming off a game at Brooklyn last night which saw them make 15 three point shots. The Blazers have now converted on a very good 40.2% of their three point attempts over its last five games. They’ve gone 6-1 over the total in their last seven away games.

Philadelphia has seen seven of its last eight home games go over the total, and is 5-1 over the number during their last six overall. During their previous five games, Philadelphia has shot a stellar 48% from the floor, and unfortunately they also allowed opponents to convert on 49% of their field goal attempts. The 76ers have connected on a more than respectable 38% of its three point shots during the last five games.

Current NBA odds provide me with a best combination of number and price for my NBA pick.
