Our NBA odds analyst shares his three top totals picks on Monday’s slate. Go inside to find out what those picks are and why he’s opted to bet on them.

Portland Trailblazers vs. Atlanta Hawks 8:05 PM ET
Despite allowing 101 points or more in each of their last four games, Portland has gone 3-1 under the total during those contests. Atlanta has gone 6-1 under the total in its past seven home games. The Hawks are coming off a 103-100 win at Orlando on Sunday. Both of these teams will be playing in their third game in four days on Monday, and that usually lends itself to tired shooting legs.

Any team (Portland) that allowed 100 points or more in each of their previous four games, versus an opponent (Atlanta) coming off a win by 3 points or less, resulted in those games going 30-8 (78.9%) under the total during the last three seasons.

NBA Pick: Under 204.5

Phoenix Suns vs. Utah Jazz 9:05 PM ET
The up tempo and high scoring Phoenix Suns have gone 5-1 under the total during its previous six games. The Suns will be hard pressed to speed this game up tonight against a Utah team that is limiting opponents to a mere 78 field goal attempts per contest.

Utah is 5-1 under the total in its last six overall, and that includes 4-0 at home during that stretch. Current NBA odds indicate that Utah is a 4.5 point favorite tonight. Utah is 17-5 (77.2%) under the total during the past two seasons as a favorite of 3.5 to 9.5, and there was a combined average of only 182.6 points scored per game.

Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Los Angeles Clippers 10:35 PM ET
Billy Donovan has his Thunder team more cognizant of their play on the defensive end, and it’s produced obvious results. Oklahoma City has gone 5-1 under the total in its last six, and 11-2 during their previous thirteen games. In their last five contests, they’ve allowed a paltry 92.0 points per game, and have held opponents to just 40.0% shooting from the field. Oklahoma City has scored 100 points or more in each of their previous three games, and they’re 7-0 under the total (196.0 PPG) this season during the following game in which that’s transpired.

The Clippers are 6-2 under the total in their previous eight home games. They’ll also be playing in their third game in four days on Monday.

Relative to the posted total in this contest, I like this game to be a low scoring affair, and one of my Monday NBA picks will reflect that prediction.
