Our NBA odds analyst shares his three top totals picks on Friday’s card. Go inside to find out what those picks are and why we're inclined to bet them.

Brooklyn Nets vs. Indiana Pacers 7:05 PM ET
Brooklyn has been horrible defensively during their previous three contests, allowing 104.7 points per game, and permitting opponents to shoot a sizzling 52.3% from the field. The Nets have shot a stellar 47.1% from beyond the three point line over its past five games, and also scored 98 points or more on four of those occasions.

Indiana has scored 103 points or more in eleven of their previous thirteen games. The Pacers have converted on a superb 38.8% of their three point attempts this season. They’ve also shot a red-hot 48.6% from the field during their last three contests.

This will be the first meeting of the season between these Eastern Conference teams. Each of their three encounters a season ago went over the total, and there was a combined average of 215.3 points scored per game. I like this game to be a high scoring affair, and one of my Friday NBA picks will be indicative of that prediction.

Detroit Pistons vs. Chicago Bulls 8:05 PM ET
Detroit has gone over the total in each of their last four contests, and there was a combined average of 214.8 points scored per game. The Pistons are converting on a very good 38.4% of their three point tries during its previous five games, and have averaged ten makes per contest during that stretch. They’ve scored 102 points or more in eight of their past ten games.

Chicago’s poor offensive field goal percentage is a bit deceiving due to the up tempo style in which they prefer to play. As a matter of fact, the Bulls have 85 or more field goal attempts in eleven of their last twelve games, and that certainly qualifies as playing at a brisk pace. Chicago has converted on a solid 37.8% of their three point attempts over its previous five games. That’s good news considering they’ll be facing an opponent (Detroit) tonight with a poor three point defensive field goal percentage this season of 37.3.

Memphis Grizzlies vs. Dallas Mavericks 8:35 PM ET
Memphis has scored less than 100 points in seven of their last eight contests, and averaged only 94.0 points scored per outing during that time frame. The Grizzlies are coming off a 98-85 loss at Chicago on Wednesday.

Dallas is 6-1 under the total during its previous seven home games. The Mavericks are coming off a 107-81 loss at Indiana this past Monday.

Current (10:40 AM ET) NBA odds indicates that there’s a total of 197.0 on this contest. Any team (Memphis) with a total of 190.0 to 199.5, coming off a loss by 10 points or more, versus an opponent coming off a loss by 15 points or more, resulted in those games going 90-40 (69.2%) under the total during the past five seasons.
