Our NBA handicapping professional shares his three top totals on Monday’s slate. Go inside to find out what those NBA picks are, and why he’s chosen to wager on them.

Boston Celtics vs. Washington Wizards 7:05 PM ET
These teams met just 9 days ago in Washington and Boston came away with 119-117 win. That game easily surpassed the total of 211.5. As a matter of fact, in three games against Washington this season, Boston has averaged a very sizable 116.0 points scored per contest, and averaged 94 field goal attempts per outing.

Both of these teams have been playing at a torrid offensive pace in recent games. Boston has averaged 89 field goal attempts per contest during its last five, and Washington 88.7 per game during their previous seven outings. Both of those numbers are very high even by NBA standards.

Washington has gone 6-1 over the total in its last seven games, and Boston is 7-2 over the number during their previous nine contests. This game has all the earmarks of a fast paced entertaining and high scoring affair. One of my Monday NBA picks will reflect that school of thought.

Miami Heat vs. Chicago Bulls 8:05 PM ET
This will be the first meeting of the season between these Eastern Conference rivals. Each of their three encounters a season ago stayed under the total, and there was a combined average of only 171.7 points scored per game.

Miami has been anemic offensively of late averaging a paltry 84.8 points scored per game during their previous six contests, and they went under the total on five of those occasions. The Heat has gone 15-5 under the total (187.8 PPG) in its away games this season.

Chicago has averaged just 95.8 points per game, shot only 42.2% from the floor, and converted on a horrible 24.4% of their three point attempts during its previous five games.

At the time of this writing, NBA odds clearly provides me with a best number to make this wager.

Charlotte Hornets vs. Sacramento Kings 10:05 PM ET
Charlotte enters tonight having shot a poor 41.2% from the field during its previous five games. The Bobcats will be facing an opponent (Kings) tonight that averages 106.1 points scored per game. They’ve gone 10-2 (83.3%) under the total (200.9 PPG) this season versus opponents averaging 103.0 or more points per contest.

Sacramento is red-hot right now, going 5-0 SU&ATS in its previous five contests. A key to their recent success has been a strict attention to detail on the defensive end of the floor. During the Kings last four contests, they’re allowing just 95.3 points per game, and have held opponents to only 39.6% shooting from the field. They’ve gone 3-0 under the total in its last three home games, and there was a combined average of 196.7 points scored per contest.
