Our NBA handicapping professional shares his two top totals NBA picks on Monday’s card. Go inside to find out what those picks are, and why he’s opted to wager on them.

San Antonio Spurs vs. Brooklyn Nets 7:35 PM ET
For starters, since the start of the 2013-2014 NBA campaign these team have met five times, and all of those games went under the total (189.6 PPG).

San Antonio continues to be the best defensive team in the NBA, and arguably nobody else is a close second with all things being considered. The Spurs are allowing just 89.7 points per game which is astounding by NBA standards. They’ve given up less than 100 points in 31 of their 37 games this season, and that includes in nine of its last ten.

Brooklyn has now gone under the total in each of their last six games. They’ve scored just 94 points or less in five of those six contests. On a more positive note, the Nets have been stout defensively over its previous five games, allowing a very respectable 95.4 points per contests, and limiting opponents to only 42.8% shooting from the floor.

Both of these clubs have been infrequent visitors to the free throw line so far this season. Each club averages 19 free throws per contest which falls well below the NBA average. I like this game to be a low scoring affair, and one of my NBA picks on Monday will be indicative of that prediction.

Washington Wizards vs. Chicago Bulls 8:05 PM ET
Washington has been a poor defensive team this season which has allowed an average of 103.9 points per game, and opponents have converted on alarmingly high 38.3% of their three point attempts against them. The Wizards have shot a very good 37.9% from beyond the three point line in away games. They’ve gone 7-1 over the total in their last eight road games.

Chicago has been sizzling hot offensively of late, averaging 109.2 points scored per game, and converting on a terrific 41.7% of their three point attempts in its last five contests. As a matter of fact, the Bulls have scored 101 points or more in each of their previous ten games. Chicago is 9-3 over the total in its last 12 and 13-6 during their previous 19 games.

Current NBA odds at Heritage clearly provides me with a best combination of number and price for this specific NBA pick.
