Our NBA handicapping professional shares his three top totals picks on Sunday’s card. Go inside to find out what those NBA picks are, and why he’s opted to wager on them.

Dallas Mavericks vs. San Antonio Spurs 7:05 PM ET
Dallas has gone under the total in five of its last six, and nine of their previous eleven games. During their last five contests, Dallas has averaged just 93.4 points scored per game. The Mavericks have also allowed 96 points or less in four of its last six outings.

San Antonio is unequivocally the best defensive team in the entire NBA, allowing just an average of 89.8 points per game. They’ve allowed less than 100 points in 34 of 41 games played this season. In their only meeting versus Dallas this season, they were a 88-83 home winner, and that contest easily stayed under the total of 198.0.

This game has all the earmarks of a low scoring affair, and one of my NBA picks on Sunday will reflect that prediction.

Indiana Pacers vs. Denver Nuggets 8:05 PM ET
Indiana has seen three of its previous four contests go over the total, and there was a combined average of 210.5 points scored per game.

Current (12:40 PM ET) NBA odds board at Heritage indicates that the total in this contest is 202.0. Denver has gone 8-1 over the total at home this season when the total was 200.0 to 209.5, and there were a combined average of 216.6 points scored per game. The Nuggets are coming off a 98-95 home loss to Miami, and they now have a season record of 15-25.

Any home team with a total of 200.0 or more, coming off a home loss by 3 points or less, and they have a losing record, resulted in those games going 33-10 (76.5%) over the total during the past five seasons. The average total in those contests was 205.7, and there were 214.5 points scored per game. We'll go over for our NBA picks tonight.

Houston Rockets vs. Los Angeles Lakers 9:35 PM ET
Houston has done a decent job defensively in recent games. They’ve allowed 94 points or less in four of their last six games. That should bode well against a Lakers team that’s scored 98 points or less in 15 of their last 20 games.

The Lakers have gone under the total in eight of their last nine home games. They’ve allowed 94 points or less in five of the previous seven games at the Staples Center. Los Angeles has gone 4-0 under the total (187.8 PPG) in each of their last four, averaged 87.3 points scored per contest, and shot a miserable 37.1% from the floor.
