Our NBA odds analyst shares his three top totals picks on Wednesday’s card. Go inside to find out what those picks are and why he’s chosen them.

Sacramento Kings vs. Indiana Pacers 7:05 PM ET
Sacramento has gone under the total in each of their previous five games, and there was a combined average of 200.8 points scored per contest. Indiana has also gone under the total during all of their last five games, and there was a combined average of 192.6 points scored per outing. This has all the earmarks of a low scoring game, and one of my Wednesday NBA picks will emulate that prediction.

Denver Nuggets vs. Phoenix Suns 9:05 PM ET
Denver is 5-1 over the total (218.5 PPG) during its previous six games. The Nuggets haven’t been a proficient three-point shooting team this season, but that hasn’t been the case recently. Denver has converted on a stellar 38.2% of their long distance attempts during its previous five games. Unfortunately for them, they don’t defend the three-ball very well, allowing opponents to make 38.1% of those tries this season.

Phoenix is averaging 106.3 points per game at home, and they’ve converted on 37.0% of their three-point attempts in those contests. As a matter of fact, they’re averaging ten made three point shots per game. On a negative note, Phoenix is giving up a lofty 105.2 points per game for the season, and has allowed opponents to convert on 39.2% of their three point attempts on their home floor.

Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Los Angeles Lakers 10:35 PM ET
Oklahoma City has scored 100 points or more in each of their previous five games. However, the Thunder has gone a perfect 8-0 under the total (198.0 PPG) this season following three straight games in which they scored 100 points or more.

Despite Oklahoma City averaging 107.4 points scored per game this season, and the Lakers giving up 107 points or more in each of their previous three contests, recent NBA betting history indicates that this exact situation lends itself to lower scoring contests. Current (11:00 AM ET) NBA odds indicate the posted total on this contest is 207.0. Any team (Thunder) with a total of 200.0 to 209.5, averaging 103.0 or more points per game, versus an opponent (Lakers) that’s allowed 105 points or more in each of their previous three games, resulted in those contests going 24-5 (82.8%) under the total during the past three seasons. This exact scenario has come up three times already this season, and each of those games went under the total.
