Our handicapper shares his top two NBA picks on Friday's card. Go inside to give yourself a sizable betting edge in betting these games. Thursday’s NBA totals were a 2-0 sweep!

Orlando Magic vs. New York Knicks 7:35 PM ET
Orlando is coming off a 130-114 home loss to Golden State last night, and that game easily surpassed the total of 223.5. They’ve gone 8-2 over the total this season when playing with no rest. Orlando has now gone 11-4 over the total in its last fifteen games, and that includes each of their previous four (226.0 PPG). The Magic’s defensive play has been horrendous during their last three contests, allowing 116.7 points per game, and opponents have shot a combined 55.0%. Orlando has seen six of its last seven road contests go over the total, and there was a cumulative average of 217.1 points scored per game.

New York has seen four of their previous five games go over the total. During that stretch, they allowed 109.0 points per game, and opponents have shot a combined 49.1% while also converting on an alarming 45.4% of its three point attempts. The Knicks themselves shot a more than respectable 47.4% from the field during the course of those five games.

Current (9:55 AM ET) NBA odds at Heritage has a total of 206.5 for this Eastern Conference matchup. Relative to that number, I like this game to be a high scoring affair. One of my Friday NBA picks will be indicative of that prediction.

Memphis Grizzlies vs. Los Angeles Lakers 10:35 PM ET
Memphis has gone 15-3 over the total in their last eighteen games, and that includes five of its previous six. The Grizzlies have shot 48% or better in eight of their last ten games. During its last five outings, Memphis has seen their opponents convert on a rather high 38.9% of its three point shots, and allowed a lofty average of 27 free throw attempts per game.

Los Angeles is 4-1 over the total during their previous five contests, and there was a combined average of 232.0 points scored per game. There were a few contributing factors that led to the high scoring nature of those recent Lakers outings. They’ve allowed opponents to shoot 53.7% from the field, and connect on an extremely high 47.6% of its three point attempts during that stretch. Los Angeles hasn’t been a good shooting team for the vast majority of this season. However, during those previous five outings, they connected on a red-hot 42.4% of its three point tries.

These NBA Western Conference teams have met twice this season, and both games easily went over the total. As a matter of fact, those outings surpassed the number by a combined 52.5 points. The most recent of their head to head encounters came just two days ago in Memphis, and the Grizzlies came away with a 128-119 win.
