After splitting their first two meetings this season, the Bulls and Pistons meet up Monday in Auburn Hills with the Pistons as home favorites -- a number that has jumped a bit with the news that Chicago won't have Dwyane Wade available.

Chicago Bulls

Chicago pulled off a huge win vs. Golden State last Thursday but then faltered versus the Los Angeles Clippers in a tough home loss. The Bulls have been really inconsistent this season as shown by their 31-31 record. I think they’re going to have some tough matchups tonight on the road, and currently Chicago is one of the worst offensive teams in the NBA shooting just 47.8% on their two-point shots and 32.5% from distance ranking them 29th and 30th in the league, respectively. Dwyane Wade is sitting this one out with a thigh injury, which should certianly affect your NBA picks here, and Rajon Rondo (ankle) will be a game-time call.

On the other side of the ball, the Bulls improved some things when compared to last year, but they remain outside the top half the league in most major defensive statistics -- highlighted by allowing opponents to shoot 46.3% from the floor. Their tempo is not quite as quick as last year, which has helped them stay in some games, but this is just not a well-rounded team and I have a lot of trouble thinking they’re going to stay within the number tonight against a Detroit team that might be starting to take off

Detroit Pistons

Detroit is coming off a shellacking of the 76ers in Philadelphia and should be primed to come in and play some good basketball tonight. Like Chicago, the Pistons have been a team of two faces but I think they are the better team -- and in this spot I like them to win by double digits. Offensively, Detroit has been less than stellar and ranks in the bottom half the league in most statistics but currently they are averaging 40 field goals per game, which ranks fifth in the NBA.

Defensively, the Pistons have been solid in ranking in the middle league of most statistics but in the top 10 in opponent field goals attempted and made per game, and also allowing just 8.9 three-pointers per contest. If they get their tempo going and continue to play some decent defense they should find themselves winning this game going away.

NBA Free Pick: Pistons -5.5

Best Line Offered: BookMaker

[/]{"component":"oddswidget", "eventId":3068656, "sportsbooksIds":[93,19,169,238,999993], "LineTypeId":1, "PeriodTypeId":1 }[/]
