The Wizards are sloppy of late, gifting 17.8 turnovers per game over a 3-3 SU and ATS run in their last six. They look to tighten up Monday night (7 p.m. ET) hosting the Kings as double-digit favorites. Get your free pick and preview here.

Wiz Sloppy of Late, Brooks Securing Bench Players

The Wizards are 7-5 SU and 6-6 ATS but own the NBA’s eighth-best average scoring margin with 4.4 points. They either blow opponents out or keep it close in defeat, losing just one game all year by double digits.

Their play has been sporadic over the last two weeks, the team hampered by giveaways. Washington is averaging 18 giveaways per game over their last five, Bradley Beal the main culprit gifting four per contest. A date against the Kings may not be the best medicine, as Sacramento generates above-average takeaways with 15.9 per game.

John Wall, Bradley Beal, and Otto Porter Jr. are the team’s core and playing well. The bench, however, is an issue. Altogether, it owns a minus-7 plus-minus rating for the season. It’s failed to produce many fouls and adept at gifting unnecessary fouls. Head coach Scott Brooks is attempting to generate confidence and rhythm among the group, playing them extra cycles over the last few games. Bettors beware.

Kings Streak Halted, Road Woes Continue

The Knicks routed the Kings 118-91 at Madison Square Garden on Saturday, snapping a short-lived 2-game win streak. New York shot 52 percent from the floor, the second-worst percentage allowed by Sacramento all year. The team was outplayed all across the court, particularly in the paint where it gave up a season-high 60 points in the area.

Dating back to last April, the Kings are 1-8 SU and 1-7-1 ATS on the road. Their lone win occurred against the lowly Mavericks 93-88 in their first try this season at Dallas. Sacramento is losing by 13.2 points per game in this spot, falling 5.4 points below a 7.8 average line. A lack of scoring is hindering any success. The Kings put up just 92.8 points per game, eclipsing the century mark once. They’ve surpassed their team total just twice, averaging -6.1 below market expectations.

The Prediction

Sacramento is tied with the Bulls as the second slowest team in the NBA with 96 possessions per 48 minutes. Combine this with an inadequate offense, and they can put a damper on combined scoring against even the more efficient offenses like the Wiz. Since head coach Dave Joerger took over, the ‘under’ is 10-3-1 when the Kings take to the road against an offense averaging greater than 107 points per night. Washington enters posting 111.5, second most in the NBA. A 200.0 average score stays south of a 208.3 average total overall. Expect little offense again out of the Kings, while Brooks’ bench experimentation keeps scoring on the lighter side for Washington. My NBA pick of  ‘under’ 210 as your best bet.
