The Golden State Warriors started the season with five straight wins but have since lost two straight. They’ll have a chance to bounce back on Thursday night when Brooklyn visits. The Warriors are a nine-point favorite on the NBA betting lines.

The Brooklyn Nets Can Win Because…
The Warriors have hit a wall. Nobody believed that the Warriors were actually that good when they started the season 5-0 and they’ve quickly come crashing down. It’s one thing to lose on the road in Phoenix but to come home and get shellacked by the San Antonio Spurs, who not only have been struggling to start the season but were also in a back-to-back situation, is a rude wakeup call. The Warriors are the same old Warriors: they can outscore opponents but they can’t play defense worth a lick.

The Nets come into town somewhat on a hot streak as they’ve won four of their last six games. They’re also coming off a loss in Phoenix but on the whole, they’ve been quite competitive. Their offense is in the top 10 as they’ve scored at least 100 points in all but one of their seven games to start the season. The Warriors soft defense won’t test them much, which is why the Nets are the right choice for your NBA Picks. It’s just too many points.

The Golden State Warriors Can Win Because…
The Nets are a bad road team and they’ll be worn down tonight. The Nets have won four of six but most of that damage was done against flimsy Eastern Conference opponents. They’ve topped Detroit, Orlando, New York and an injury-plagued Oklahoma City team. Their losses were to Boston, Minnesota and Phoenix. In other words, playing anyone remotely good has challenged the Nets. Going on the road and beating a 50-win Western Conference team is highly unlikely.

The Nets are also in a tight spot after playing last night in Phoenix. They had to run up and down the court with the Suns last night and now have a quick turnaround to face Golden State tonight. That’s a tough situation for a team that’s lost two of three away games. Although they won in Detroit, they lost by eight in Phoenix and 16 in Boston, so there’s a good chance Golden State covers on tonights game.

The Warriors have played two bad games in a row, so it’s hard to see them laying an egg for a third straight time. Expect them to be quite focused here against a Nets team that should be road-wary – especially being an East Coast team playing on the West Coast.

The Warriors have lost two straight but those were to elite teams like Phoenix and San Antonio. Facing the Warriors should be much easier for them. Brooklyn will match them in the first half but look for Golden State to pull away in the second half and cover the big NBA Odds number.
