Detroit is improving since adding Blake Griffin, while New Orleans is struggling after a key injury. Both teams are favored at home tonight, but perhaps the best value is with the visiting dogs.

The Detroit Pistons have won three games in a row since the acquisition of Blake Griffin. Not only is Griffin turning out to be the gate attraction that allows the Pistons to fill their new downtown arena, but he is also one of the best players in the world. What makes Griffin such a great addition on the court is his play-making ability. He can pass the ball and his new specialty is running pick-and-rolls with Andre Drummond, who was just named Eastern Conference player of the week after averaging 19 points and 19 rebounds per game.

This is the third of four meetings between these teams; they split the first two. Detroit won 114-80, and the Nets won 101-100 a few weeks back. Brooklyn has dropped seven of its last eight games since that thriller and is probably going to look like a completely different team once the trade deadline passes. The Nets do not have many draft picks in the future but they do have a few players who could potentially help a playoff team and yield them some picks.

The Nets, big road underdogs on the NBA odds board, are 32-21-1 ATS this season, the second-best ATS record in the NBA. For your NBA picks tonight, count on that success in covering games to win bettors money.

New Orleans has lost four of five games since all-star DeMarcus Cousins was diagnosed with a torn Achilles. The Pelicans have slipped to the eighth spot in the Western Conference playoff race, and are just a half-game in front of the Clippers for the last playoff spot. Every game for New Orleans has a significant impact on their ability to make the playoffs. Tonight's test against the Pacers, who are three-point underdogs on the NBA odds board, will be an interesting matchup.

Anthony Davis has to step up in Cousins’ absence. Davis is averaging 26 points and 10 rebounds a game this season, but his numbers are kind of inflated by the fact his biggest games are in losing efforts. His teammates need to help with some much-needed perimeter scoring to aid Davis as a low-post threat.

Scoring on the perimeter will be difficult against the Pacers, who boast a tough lineup with defensive-minded guards. Victor Oladipo could return after missing Monday’s game against the Wizards due to flu-like symptoms. He is an all-star who is playing the best ball of his career and would be too much for the Pelicans to handle. On top of that, the Pelicans are one of the NBA's worst teams when it comes to home ATS record (10-15-1), so for your NBA picks take the visiting Pacers and the points.
