Brooklyn is a team that plays well and smart together, but that continuity has not resulted in wins for the franchise, just covers for bettors. Don’t miss another opportunity to cash in on the Nets’ mediocrity.

The Charlotte Hornets are coming off a four-game losing streak in which they almost surely ruined any small percent chance of making the playoffs this season. Charlotte is now six games behind the Miami Heat and Milwaukee Bucks for the last playoff spot in the East with only 17 games to go. It would take a miracle for the Hornets to be able to make up a deficit of that nature in such a short period of time. Luckily for Charlotte, its schedule is turning much more favorable over the duration of the season, starting Thursday with the Brooklyn Nets, who are barely able to make it across the finish line of the season.

Brooklyn is showing the rest of the NBA how to tank properly without even tanking. The Nets have lost 16 of their last 18 games and they don’t even own the rights to their own first-round draft pick, which belongs to the Cleveland Cavaliers (via Boston). Brooklyn has talented players who are certainly trying, but they just haven’t been able to convert at a rate that would allow them to win games.

The Nets are a high volume three-point shooting team at 35.2 attempts per game but only making 34.7 percent of those shots. Brooklyn had hit at least 10 three-pointers in 12 straight games before going 9-for-34 in a loss Tuesday at the Golden State Warriors. In the Nets’ only meeting so far this season with the Hornets, they shot 14-for-43 from three-point range and lost 111-96.

While Brooklyn is not good at making three-point shots, it is very good at covering spreads this season. They Nets are 38-26-1 ATS overall compared to the Hornets' 27-34-4 ATS mark. As far as the game total, the Nets give up 110, which is third from last in the NBA. Look for not only the Nets to cover against the Hornets but for them to do so in exciting fashion as they give up a lot of points.
