Just the other night the Nets shocked the Bulls in Brooklyn. Tonight Chicago not only looks for revenge but needs to win in order to stay in the playoff race. Can Brooklyn keep this game uncomfortably close?

Brooklyn Nets

Brooklyn has been pretty scrappy the second half of the season and recently they are playing good basketball winning seven of their last 12 games. I can understand why Chicago would be such a big favorite considering that Brook Lopez is out but I like how Brooklyn is playing right now and I think they can hang within this big number despite his absence.

On the season Brooklyn has some decent offensive numbers ranking in the middle the league in shooting efficiency and effective field-goal percentage, as well as shooting 50.6% on their two-point shots which rank them 10th. Surprisingly their statistics have improved from the beginning of the season to now on the defensive side of the ball as they also rank right in the middle the league in opponent shooting efficiency and effective field-goal percentage, as well as allowing opponents to shoot just 49.9% on their two-point shots ranking them 10th. This is essentially like a playoff game for them and I expect for them to play at a high level and keep the Chicago fans on edge.

Chicago Bulls

Chicago can be either really hot or really cold so I have no problem fading them against this big number. On the season they have been somewhat decent on the defensive side of the ball highlighted by ranking fifth and sixth in the NBA in opponent shooting efficiency and opponent three-point shooting percentage. Defending from beyond the arc will be crucial tonight against a book and team that loves to get shots off from distance. However, Chicago has been really poor statistically in putting the ball on the basket ranking in the bottom five in the league in shooting efficiency, effective field-goal percentage, and overall shooting percentage. Although there at home and they should win this game do not be shocked if Brooklyn takes this to the wire. This is simply too many points in my opinion even without Lopez in the lineup for Brooklyn.

Brooklyn Nets vs Chicago Bulls

Oddsmakers have come out making Chicago a -13.5 favorite which makes sense considering the situation and Brooklyn is missing one of their best players. However, for my NBA pick, I like the Nets to stay within the number and keep this game interesting.

Free NBA Pick: Brooklyn Nets +13.5

Best Line Offered: at Pinnacle

[/]{"component":"oddswidget", "eventId":3068223, "sportsbooksIds":[238,43,92,19,1096], "LineTypeId":1, "PeriodTypeId":1 }[/]
