Veteran center Nene Hilario will return for a fourth season with the Houston Rockets, who recently re-signed Eric Gordon.

Kelly Iko, Rockets beat writer for The Athletic, reported that Nene plans to re-sign with the team and per Jonathan Feigen, beat writer for the Houston Chronicle, Eric Gordon agreed to sign a four-year, $76 million maximum contract extension.

While Nene Hilario is 36 years old, last season he proved that he can still provide quality minutes to an NBA team. He might have averaged just 3.6 points and 2.9 rebounds in 13.0 minutes over 42 games for the Rockets last season but that's exactly what they would need from him because he will back up Clint Capela and Tyson Chandler.

[/]{"component": "embedHTML", "code": "

Nene drops the hammer... twice! #Rockets ;/a>
— NBA (@NBA) November 23, 2017
"}[/]

There were younger options available with potentially more upside but Nene is a proven veteran and he gives the Rockets a consistent and reliable interior presence off the bench.

Rockets Roster & Starting Lineup

*Notates expected starter

C: Clint Capela*, Tyson Chandler, Nene
PF: P.J.
