Our NBA consultant shares his top two totals selections on Tuesday’s card. Join us in reading this revealing betting preview article that details exactly why he likes these picks.

Boston Celtics vs. Atlanta Hawks 8:05 PM ET
The Celtics have gone 4-1 under the total in away games thus far. Their defensive play has been a major contributor to those low scoring affairs. They’re allowing just 94.8 points per game, and holding opponents to only 41.7% shooting from the field during those five road contests.

The Hawks have scored 97 points or less in four of their previous five games. Atlanta is averaging a paltry 17 free throw attempts per outing this season. They’ve encountered some concerning rebounding issues recently. The Hawks have been outrebounded by 6 or more in each of their last six games.

Any home team with a total of 200.0 to 209.5, coming off three straight games in which they were outrebounded by 5 or more, resulted in those games going 54-22 (71.1%) under the total during the past five seasons. The average total in those 76 contests was 205.0, and there were an average of 197.8 points scored per game. A little more than half of those games went under the total by 7.0 points or more.

I like this game to be a low scoring affair relative to the posted total for one of my NBA picks on Tuesday.

Chicago Bulls vs. Portland Trailblazers 10:05 PM ET
Chicago has gone under the total in each of their last four, six of its past seven, and eight of their previous ten games. Chicago will be playing on three days of rest tonight, and this will be only their fourth game in the last ten days. They’ve gone 11-2 under the total when playing with three or more days rest during the past three seasons (184.9 PPG). Chicago has also gone 21-6 under the total during the last two seasons when playing four games or less in a ten day period (191.1 PPG).

Portland has gone under the total in four of its previous five contests, and there was a combined average of 195.4 points scored per game. The Blazers defense has been very good during that stretch, allowing opponents to convert on just 41.3% of their field goal attempts. Portland is 18-8 under at home the past two seasons when there a total of 200.0 or more.

According to current NBA odds, they provide me with a best combination of number and price for this specific wager.
