Heat vs. Thunder
The big rematch from the 2012 NBA Finals takes place this evening, and after the Thunder dominated the Heat a few weeks ago, the NBA Odds have the Thunder as -3 ½ favorites, with a total of 206. The price is pretty fair, however some potential news could move the line this evening.
Russell Westbrook has missed the last 27 games for the Thunder, however he went through practice yesterday, and it seems that if he feels good after an extensive workout and pregame warm up tomorrow, he will make his 2nd return this season from a knee injury. While I highly doubt he plays his normal 35 minutes, his presence alone could be enough to propel the Thunder to a victory.
Even if he gives them 15-20 minutes, he is a bad matchup for Miami. Even though the Heat defend point guards very well, Westbrook, and even Reggie Jackson will be able to break down the Heat defense. The Thunder overall are playing better than Miami right now, and with both teams rested, I think OKC will be the better team.
The Thunder broke a six game SU and ATS losing streak to the Heat a couple of weeks ago, and now back at home and with Westbrook possibly making his return, things look good for OKC tonight. The Thunder are averaging about 107 points per game at home this season, and I think they can score plenty against Miami tonight at home.
My Pick: Thunder -3 ½ @ Pinnacle
Rockets vs. Warriors
The Rockets are coming off a game in Los Angles last night, and tonight they travel up the coast to play a Warriors team fresh off their game against the Kings an hour down the road. The overnight NBA Odds for this one have the Warriors as -2 ½ favorites, with a total of 212 ½. Which team will rebound from last night better and get the win?
For the Warriors, Andrew Bogut did not play last night and he looks questionable at best for tonight’s game as of the most recent reports on his shoulder. He had to get a shot in the shoulder, so his chances of sitting are likely a little higher than his chances of playing tonight.
This is the 3rd meeting between these two teams, but it’s the first since December, and both teams are playing a lot differently than they were in 2013. The Rockets are clicking on the offense end of the floor, and even at home, the Warriors have been giving up some points. Both teams should also be tired from their games last night, and even though they had the All Star break to rest recently, I think last night’s games will lead to this one going over the total of 212 ½.
Houston will likely force the pace of the game tonight, and without Bogut, the Warriors almost have to step their pace up a notch as well. It will lead to more shots overall, and I see the total being the way to go here for your NBA picks.
My Pick: OVER 212 ½ @BetOnline
