We start a new week with the exciting conclusion of college basketball season. With the Association off yesterday, we have a vast array of NBA props to choose from on Tuesday.
When looking over the NBA odds for props, noticed the lines are sharper than they were a two to five weeks ago, not making our job any easier and continually have to keep digging to deliver the best value, along with hopefully winning choices.
For NBA picks on props, these are the four we like best:
Hornets vs. Raptors - Charlotte Over/Under 49.5 Halftime Points (-115)
Charlotte fell behind at Cleveland big time in their last outing and will seek to avoid similar fate at Toronto tonight. The Hornets trailed 58-42 to the Cavs after two quarters, but prior to this, Charlotte had scored at least 52 points by the half in their prior four contests. Toronto has been a little lackadaisical on defense lately and have allowed an average of 52.5 points per half in their past four outings. The Hornets come in 18-7 OVER the first half total revenging a road loss and are 10-2 OVER the first half total when playing six or less games in 14 days this season.
Prop Play: Hornets Over 49.5 Halftime Points
Bulls vs. Grizzlies - J. Butler Over/Under 28 Points and Rebounds (-115)
After a rugged stretch, Chicago's Jimmy Butler has gotten back to being the Bulls best player and leading scorer and trying to get them into the postseason. After averaging an abysmal 13 PPG over a seven-game period, Butler is at 24.6 PPG in his last three and seen his rebounding improve also with 10 boards a game average. Though Chicago is hardly an offensive juggernaut, Memphis has so many injuries and its defense is really suffering in permitting 107.5 PPG in their past six contests. This is ideal opportunity for Butler to deliver and we believe he does.
Prop Play: J. Butler Over 28 Points and Rebounds
Spurs vs. Jazz - First Team to Score 20 Points
With the top two scoring defense colliding, points will likely be at a premium in this Western Conference clash. For this prop we see Utah at a disadvantage since they have only scored 79.5 PPG in their past four contests with San Antonio, with scoring being a real struggle. Though we do not assume the Spurs will toss in seven 3's and breeze to easy winner in this situation against a solid Jazz defense, we believe they have more varied scoring options than their opponent with the starters playing the majority of the first quarter and take this one.
Prop Play: Spurs Score 20 Points First (-140)
T-Wolves vs. Warriors - K. Thompson Over/Under 28.5 for Points-Rebounds-Assists (-120)
Not suggesting Klay Thompson minutes will be reduced dramatically, but with San Antonio on the docket Thursday and Sunday this week for Golden State, this would be ideal chance for coach Steve Kerr to have his shooting guard play in the low 20's. While it is presumed the Spurs might not utilize all their players in either matchup, Kerr could well have his team go all out to possibly send a message. Thompson has come Under the prop number in his last three starts and him making it four in a row would not be a shocker.
Prop Play: K. Thompson Under 28.5 for Points-Rebounds-Assists (-110)
