For the 3rd straight day we split our NBA Picks right down the middle, while it’s not the end of the world it would be nice to turn things around. Here are my best plays for the NBA evening slate.

Bucks vs. Suns
While the Bucks have had a hard time starting out this season, at least ATS they have been turning things around some lately. Tonight they have a date with the Suns in an afternoon start time out West, where the NBA Odds have the Suns as -6 favorites, with a total of 204 points. Sometimes these early starts on Sunday are a bit difficult to handicap, however, this one has way too much value being given to the Bucks right now, and even though it is somewhat of a Brandon Knight revenge game after being traded out there less than a year ago, the Bucks taking +6 is way too many points for this team that is slowly turning things around.

Greg Monroe is back from his punishment from making it rain in the strip club back when the Bucks took on Oakland the first time, and his impact tonight against a thin Suns frontcourt should be immense. While the Bucks won’t be able to completely stop the Suns backcourt in this one, Milwaukee’s length and defense can be good enough to limit the Suns transition and half court offense.

The Suns are 0-3 ATS at home against the Eastern conference this season, and they are only 2-6 ATS overall against the East in eight games this season. While the Bucks haven’t been world-beaters by any means this season, they have improved their ATS record to a respectable 13-15 this season. I see them using their length and athleticism to stay with the Suns in this one, and keep it close enough to get the cover in our NBA Picks.

NBA Pick: Milwaukee Bucks ATS
Best Line Offered: +6 (-105) at Pinnacle

Pelicans vs. Nuggets
We crashed and burned the other night trusting the Pelicans to do something other than suck this season, as they put up a dud on offense to ruin our over pick against those aforementioned Suns. However, tonight the Pelicans have a chance at redemption, as they travel into the Mile High city of Denver to play the Nuggets. While the NBA Odds shave the Nuggets as +1 home dogs, I am not falling into the trap. Instead, the total of 204 ½ seems like the much better play.

The Nuggets are dealing with some injuries right now, most notably to their star rookie point guard, Emmanuel Mudiay. Without him the Nugget have to turn to veteran point guard, Jameer Nelson, who will have a lot of trouble trying to defend the likes of Jrue Holiday, who is finally starting to look like the Jrue from Philadelphia those years ago. Although the Pelicans have been absolutely horrible scoring and subsequently cashing the over on the road this season, I am stubborn and once again I’m taking the over between these two clubs.

Denver is 7-5 cashing the over at home this season, and already this season the Nuggets have dropped 115 points on these horrible Pelicans. The over has cashed in five of the Nuggets last seven games overall, and in five of their last seven at home as well. The Pelicans are giving up nearly 109 points per game to Western Conference opponents, and while they are only scoring about 96 points per game on the road, this total has been bet down enough to where the over once again could have some value.

NBA Pick: Pelicans & Nuggets OVER the Total
Best Line Offered: 204 (-115) at Bovada
